Was anyone unsure they were having contractions and really were?

Uggh I have no clue...I'm expecting to feel this wave, but I don't. I have no idea when they're stopping or ending.

Last night I hardly slept cuz I felt so much pressure- like I had to go #2 but had no reason to. But I never noticed any kind of pattern.

I also feel moments of menstrual type cramps.

Was anyone unsure and it turned out you were having contractions? I know my sister was unsure- she always thought they just felt like menstrual cramps.

Ugh I hate being so unsure!!Chat Icon Chat Icon

Sorry for being a PITA today!Chat Icon Chat Icon

time them, and write down the times... I did that during early labor... it helped a lot. I saw them progressing from approx 9 min, to 7, to 5, to 4......

good luck!!!!!! Chat Icon

Yes, I was totally unsure---it didn't help that I was only 34 weeks, so I wasn't expecting it to really be contractions. For me,it was like cramps, but I wasn't able really time them, I just generally didn't feel right. GL!

I was unsure too when I was having contractions and everyone told me that I would know when it was happening--and they were right!!! When it was the real thing, I knew for sure!!! They felt like cramps but so much more intense and they came and went, it wasnt constant--good luck!!!!

I had back labor and had no clue I was also contracting. DH suggested that I time my back pain and the number of minutes were all over the place. I called my OB when I had enough and couldn't walk or talk through the pain anymore- lo and behold I was in active labor and already 4 cm dilated. The day before I was only 1 cm at my checkup!

Once my contractions kicked in they felt EXACTLY like terrible menstrual cramps. I wasn't sure what to expect either T but for me, once contractions started there was NO mistaking them. I'm sure you'll know when it's time and you better text on the ride over to the hospital!!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

The day I went into labor I thought I was having BH with cramping for the first time. I always had the tightening but no cramping. I basically went about my day ignoring them until they progressively worsened. Later that evening I knew they were the real thing and went to the hospital.

Re: Was anyone unsure they were having contractions and really were?

my second I got bad cramps 1-2-3 as I was preparing my sons bday-the doc told me they were not long enough and if I could talk I was not ready.
I made him met me anyhow---I was 10 cm

the twins I went into labor on my own--night it started was not even really cramps-just uneasy and could not sleep and slight slight slight twinges or cramps...and low and beholllllllld labor called!

This was exactly me...I was only 33 weeks. I finally called the doctor and he told me to go to the hospital. I got there and DD was born about an hour later Chat Icon
