Washing babies clothes, etc.
I am due in less than 2 wks. so we've been getting ourselves ready. We have done a few loads so far. Newborn & 0-3 clothes and onesies, blankets and bibs. Still have to do bedding. I got a bunch of clothes all the way up to a year at my shower, should I hold off on washing until my baby is ready to wear them or do it all now?
Also, does anyone know where I can get a bag for the washing machine (not sure what it's called) to keep the tiny socks and no scratch mittens in when we wash them? They're so tiny I feel like I will lose them. TIA!

Re: Washing babies clothes, etc.
I'm only going to wash the newborn clothes and some 0-3 that I know DC will need right away. All the mothers I've talked to about it told me to leave tags on everything else because I might not need as much as we received and could always exchange for larger sizes.

I use lingerie bags (I bought mine in Stop and Shop) for the socks, etc...

Re: Washing babies clothes, etc.
i think you're looking for a mess bag for the wash.
I remember I used to have one when I was in college to prevent losing my own socks!!!
I think you can pick them up at CVS or any drug store.

Thanks ladies, I'll hold off on the other clothes. I was at Target yesterday and when I asked about the bag, they looked at me weird LOL!

I recommend leaving all the tags on until your DC is ready to wear a particular size. For the first day or two unless your DC wets or poops through something they are wearing they don't get dirty and you don't have to change them so don't wash too much stuff. You have no idea what size s/he will be.

Re: Washing babies clothes, etc.
Don't do too much of the bigger clothing. DS is a big boy so the clothes that people bought him 3-6 for summer jsut wont fit. Its just easier IMO to wait until you need the sizes to do the washing.
