Watching Sesame Street as an Adult/Parent...
Ok so I found myself watching SS today and I came to a few conclusions. Keep in mind that the show made its debut the year before I was born.
1) Im thinking Maria had some "work" done. She looks da mn good!
2) Luis is definitely pumping up.
3) An entertainer has finally "arrived" in Hollywood when they are found in a Sesame Street vignette.
Thoughts?
RIP Mr. Hooper - I still miss you.

Re: Watching Sesame Street as an Adult/Parent...
I find I enjoy it even more now thatI am an adult- I catch the little jokes that might go over kids' heads and it's a comfort to see most of the same characters that made me smile when I ws little.
However- get rid of Elmo!!! I want more Oscar the grouch and Snuffleupagus (sp?)

Re: Watching Sesame Street as an Adult/Parent...
As someone who watches Sesame Street every single day and is married to a hispanic man... I'm not so sure about Maria.
I mean, she may have done something but all the women in my DH's family look years younger than they are and most of them haven't had work done. Or not much. So I'll put Maria in the not much category.
She can move her face so I think she passed on the Botox.
My favorite part is Murry and Ovejita.

DS LOVES Murry. "Murry had a little lamb" He freaks out. LOVES it.
I think its pretty much the same. Super grover still cracks me up. I can do without Elmo, but the boy digs it.

In any case, she looks amazing!

Gordon looks like he hasn't aged either. Some of the sketches make me laugh. There was a 30 rock one, and preschool musical.

I love Alan! He has the most beautiful voice. And when the Goo Goo Dolls were on!
Anyone hear, the song by Ernie..."In my room, with my hands in my pockets, I can pretend that I'm a rocket! Counting down 4, 3, 2, 1. Blasting off and having some fun!" Nice......... lol

Murray...I love, love, love him. And since my DS part hispanic, we especially love when it's Murray and "ovejita" since it's pretty much the only spanish we're teaching him right now.

Re: Watching Sesame Street as an Adult/Parent...
Now that DS has "discovered" other shows on PBS I am certain that we watch Sesame Street primarily for my entertainment... But I can proudly admit that!
I could have sworn that the other day I heard Chris refer to "Uncle Gordon." I don't know if I was hearing things, but I am pretty sure that's what I heard.
I also think Maria looks great. It is so cool that Gabby is all grown up now. I think I was babysitting or had little cousins watching SS when Maria had a baby.
I miss Bob! He's on every once in a while, but he was my second favorite after Mr. Hooper when I was a kid.
I love some of the newer additions, though... like Murray and Rosita.
I just wish some new episodes would come on. If I see the "Help-o-bots" one more time, I will scream!
eta.... Oh, and what's with the theme song to the animated scenes with Burt and Ernie.... It sounds like Bert said, "Hey, this is kind of kinky."

oh yeah..and follow that one up with the intro to Bert and Ernie's Great Adventures! Ha!
Less Elmo's World and I'd be good! I'd like more Count Von Count and Oscar!
