Water parks during Pregnancy?
So, we're going to Disney next week. So excited. We planned it way b4 BFP, but it's cool.
I know I can't go on a lot of rides at the parks and my Dr. told me to just pay attention to the signs posted and the signs my body gives me.
But, we've decided to go to Typhoon Lagoon (water park).
Anyone know if I can go on water slides? I am not going in the wave pool...just in case, but how about slides?

Re: Water parks during Pregnancy?
last time i went to typhoon lagoon i remember a lot of the slides having some bumpy parts. even the ones with inner tubes. Sorry but i would not get on any of them while pregnant, just the pool.

Yeah, no offense but imho a waterpark is not a good place for a preggo. I would be nervous about things even besides the actual rides like tons of children running around in an environment where it is easy to slip as well as bacteria.

Re: Water parks during Pregnancy?
I went to the Great wolf lodge just a few weeks ago. I stayed away from the water slides but did the lazy river, the wave pool (stayed in the shallow end) and hung out in the kiddie pool with DD most of the time.

Re: Water parks during Pregnancy?
so mnay things I never thought of!Kinda of wish we hadn't planned this vacay. I feel like I can't go on so many things and I know DH will want to stay with me, so he won't be able to go either.
I'm going to call the Dr. and get one last final list of what I can/can't should/shouldn't do while there.

Re: Water parks during Pregnancy?
try going on their website and see if they have restirctions on the rides on there. We almost went to Hershey park (they have a new water section) and I decided to go online to see if they would tell me which ones I would not be able to go on. Well... It was ALL of them!! The only thing I could have done was the lazy river. So we decided not to go. I have to say that "pregnancy" had the most no-no's for all the rides. Water and the regular park

There are a ton of things you can do at WDW preggo. I went last year feel free to FM me. Honestly I would do water slides though.

Re: Water parks during Pregnancy?
TTC crasher here. I found this online.
6. Avoid attractions with health restrictions. These restrictions are always posted at the attraction itself, or you can check the PassPorter Walt Disney World guidebook to find out before you go. In general, you want to avoid rides that are bumpy, cause dizziness, or accelerate too quickly. Epcot is the most pregnant-friendly park -- only two attractions, Test Track and Body Wars, are off-limits. At Magic Kingdom, just say no to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain, Dumbo (if you get nauseous easily), Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Mad Tea Party, The Barnstormer, Astro Orbiter, Space Mountain, and the Tomorrowland Indy Speedway. At Disney-MGM Studios, stay off Star Tours, Rock n' Roller Coaster, and the Tower of Terror. At Disney's Animal Kingdom, avoid Kali River Rapids and Dinosaur. Kilimanjaro Safaris carries a health restriction, but many pregnant women (including Jennifer's sister) feel okay about it. If you decide to go on the Kilimanjaro Safaris, ask the cast member if you can ride in the wheelchair-accessible vehicle -- it isn't as bumpy as the others. If you're not certain if a particular ride is for you, have your significant other try it out first and then report back. If you opt out of a ride, you can either shop in a nearby gift shop (there's always one around) or stay in the queue with your party until boarding and then ask for the "chicken exit."

Disney is still magical even if you are pregnant. There is so much to do besides the big thrill rides. You guys will have a great time anyway. Oh, and avoid it's a small world if you get sick easily. It makes me sick to my stomach even not pregnant. Have fun good luck!! Some of the Disney guidebooks have sections for ppl who are preggo too.

Re: Water parks during Pregnancy?
I think most rides say no pregnant women, especially water slides.

Re: Water parks during Pregnancy?
Just talked to the Dr. NO waterslides and she even said to stay away from the wavepool and lazy river as they are full of bacteria.
i feel bad for Dh as he was dying to go there. He said we will find something else to do that day.
I'm not really worried about the other parks, I know there is stuff to do. I just got a little depressed for a minute.
Thanks for the advise and kind words girls!

Re: Water parks during Pregnancy?
No water slides and no raft rides either and frankly I personally would only sit on the back edge of the wave pool and have someone walk you so you don't fall. I think the lazy river, the sand and possibly the snorkling are ok but I would check the signs. But no to the slides - sorry.
