water rupturing at 32 weeks
I'm not sure of the timeframe but if her water broke then the baby won't be in there much longer. He/she will be born today or tomorrow most probably. But at 32 weeks, the baby will be ok. Try not to worry too much.

If your water breaks yes you will need to deliver. My water broke at 37 weeks. They can only keep the baby in for a certain amount of time, any longer will risk infection.
At 32 weeks the baby has a great chance. Modern medicine is amazing these days.

Re: water rupturing at 32 weeks
My water broke at 37 weeks 5 says and I was told by my Drs. That once you water breaks they want you to deliver within ~12 hours to limit the risk of infection. 32 weeks is really early, but these days premies do really well!

Re: water rupturing at 32 weeks
WOw... I could have written this a few weeks ago.
My Cuz was on her way to her shower and water broke at 32 weeks.
THAT EARLY... they told her that they can stay up to a week and watch them in their... but she had to deleiver right away b/c she had to have a c-section (Was having twins) and one of the twins was already pushing themselves down the birth canal.
My Aunt who is the head nurse at NICU Winthrop also said the same thign... Sometimes they send them home b/c the lungs will develop quicker once the water breaks and they are in there so they try to wait to deliver IF they can... if they can't most likely she will be delierying and baby will stay in NICU till about 36 weeks b/c they still aren't able to suck and need to be fed most likely thru a tube... they develop the sensation a few weeks later.
Good Luck to your friend! My Cuz babies just came home and are doing amazing!

Re: water rupturing at 32 weeks
good friend started leaking at 33w and she was admitted to be watched. They didn't deliver until 34w! Funny enough, baby was delivered ON her shower date
Baby was delivered ay 34w (induced) weighed 4.15lb and went home with mom and day 2 post delivery! He was PERFECT! She did get steroids during her 1 week hospital stay pre-birth.

water rupturing at 32 weeks
I know someone whose water started leaking and she did not deliver until almost 2 weeks later (She was 30 weeks at time of delivery). She did have to stay in the hospital the entire time though.

Re: water rupturing at 32 weeks
My water broke at 32w5d & they rushed for a section within 30 mins. Baby was delivered healthy but remained in NICU for a month bc he needed to learn how to suck, swallow & breathe on his own. My son was born big at 5lbs but most at 32 weeks are much smaller.
Modern medicine is amazing but you prepsre yourself for possibly of complicstions.
