Re: Water sonogram
I's kinda like a HSG but with water. Scheduled like a HSG too. Relatively painless, just crampy. The way we do them where I work...internal sono first, then dr comes in and inserts speculum, swabs cervix to clean, inserts catheter, inflates tiny balloon to keep it in place (little pressure), speculum comes out, insert sono probe, inject saline (may feel crampy), take a couple images and done. Quick. Less than 5 minutes.
I'm sure every office has there own protocol, but that's basically it. They do this test to look at the lining of the uterus.

Re: Water sonogram
You're welcome!
Join the club! I cried before my hystero and my endo biopsy; and had my DH come with me to both lol. You are not alone!!!!! My RE had me take 3 ibuprofen 1 hour before (600mg), definitely helped. Good Luck!!

Re: Water sonogram
Personally, I didn't think the saline sono was anything like the HSG. The saline sono took no time and just felt like a pap, if anything. I barely knew it had started by the time it was over. On the other hand, my HSG was very uncomfortable...but worth it b/c that's the cycle I got pg!

Water sonogram
Saline sono is simple compared to the hsg. Quick and painless.

Re: Water sonogram
I just had my saline sono last week and was in a total panic.
It really wasn't that bad. For me the absolute worst part was the speculum. Those kill me, even at my yearly paps.
So if those don't bother you, you really shouldn't have any trouble with it.
I did have some minor AF like cramping for the rest of the day, but I took some Aleve and that helped. Also, bring a pad b/c you may have some leakage afterwards.

Re: Water sonogram
When he was doing it, I didn't even realize he started. When he was done, I didn't even realize it had stopped! Totally painless.
