Water Table for a 1 year old?
Target has a cute water table on sale this week...is it good for a 1 year old? My mom was thinking of getting it for DD to play with at her house this summer. She can stand up and stuff...just wondering if it's a waste or not? I don't want the mess of a water/sand table so the idea of just water is much better to me....
TIA!

Re: Water Table for a 1 year old?
My sister debated getting my niece a water table for her 1st b-day last year after I suggested it. She thought she'd be too young for it. I told her "I swear, you will be thanking me every day if you get it for her She is going to be obsessed with it."
And, of course, I was right She LOVES it, and has loved it practically every day since then.
My oldest DD got it for her first b-day and has loved it since Day 1 also...she's almost 4 and still loves it.
Get it!
ETA: We both have the sand/water table versions, but neither of us use sand in it. We put water in both sides instead....just so you know that's a (popular) option too.

Re: Water Table for a 1 year old?
that is great to know - thank you! and duh...not sure why i didn't think of putting water in the sand part...so smart! I sort of don't really get it though...they just stand at it and play with water? Do they get soaked? Do I put her in a bathing suit when she's playing at it? Sorry - I have 6 nieces and nephews all older than DD - thought I've seen every toy out there but none of them ever had this....so I'm just not too familiar with what they even do at it? Looks like they all come with toys that you play with in the water?

Re: Water Table for a 1 year old?
yes they stand and get soaked - my son loves his - i got it for him at 9 months and he could not stand well for it but loved to play with it
i either just let him play with it in his just a diaper on or a bathing suit- or let him stay in what ever cothes and change him - matters on the day
i even gave him a bath in it one time last year - he loved that
we have the step 2 artic splash one - so easy to put together - little tykes stuff is cute but everything lately has been annoying to put together

Re: Water Table for a 1 year old?
Yup, they just stand there and play....get cheap cups, boats, toys, rings, anything that the can bang around/fill up/dump/stack....you get the idea.
My DD usually is usually in regular clothes...she gets soaked, but it's ok because it's usually hot out and it cools her off a bit. We've done the bathing suit before too.
I guarantee she will LOVE it!

DS is 10.5 months and though I got it for his bday, I'm wasn't going to make him hold out until July. Put it together today and he just had a ball playing with it today. Splashing water everywhere.

Re: Water Table for a 1 year old?
your LO and YOU (because it entertains them so much!) will have so much fun with it! I got one for DD when she turned 1 last July and she literally played with it every single day last summer and even beyond. I am going to drag ours out today again. Have fun!!!
