Waxing question

We are going upstate to our cabin in 3 weeks for 2 weeks. The shower is a stall shower and it's not very big. I was thinking of waxing my legs and bikini area so I wouldn't have to wrestle around in the shower.

I wax my eyebrows. How much more do legs/bikini area hurt?

Re: Waxing question

I had my legs done for my HM and it tingled. I used to get a brazilian done and it does hurt while it's being done, I LOVED not having to bother with it for 3-4 weeks.

I hate shaving now, but I've yet to be brave enough to find somewhere to get it done down here in GA

Re: Waxing question

I did a bikini wax once... left me clean, and hairfree... but it hurt like hell! Definitely more sensitive than eyebrows... felt like I was getting pinched 18x in a row with each yank! Chat Icon Chat Icon

About 2 on each side... right, left & top.

Test the area yourself... not with wax, but with a pair of tweezers. Pluck one strand, and you'll notice the difference from how it feels when u pluck ur eyebrows.

Re: Waxing question

I got a bikini wax yesterday...oh the pain!!!

But it is better to not have to deal with that hair for 3-4 weeks...I shave my own legs...the bikini waxing is painful enough...

Re: Waxing question

Ouch...

When you say "top" do you mean under your belly area?

Re: Waxing question

well in a brazilian, top means the top triangle which hurt the most for me!!Chat Icon I didn't mind the rest of it!

and I tweezed myself ONCE....so not the same. I'd rather get it waxed...and DO not wax yourself!

What about Nair?

Yes. Actually, the lady asked me if I wanted that part waxed, too, so I guess you have a choice of more pain... Chat Icon

Re: Waxing question

I waxed my legs once... hurt like a MO'FO! I only did one leg... took too long, and too painful, that I just shaved the other leg. But 'll admit, the hair on the waxed leg took much longer to grow back than the shaved one.

ETA: Shana's right... don't wax yourself. For some reason, it hurts more when you do it to yourself, than when someone else does it.

Oh God, please don't! The scar definitely makes it more sensitive. I'm cringing at the pain as if I'm going through it! OUCH!

Re: Waxing question

they'd never even ask if they see a scar there.

Karen, I have a GREAT lady who does it privately in her home off the LIE exit 65 if you want. She's patient, talks to you while she's doing it, and very thourough, and quite affordable. A brazilian was $25.

Let me know if you need her info.
