We are having a reaction to the shots.. UPDATE: Im more confused
So AJ got her MMR and HepA shot last Tuesday. She also started on Antibiotics for an ear infection.
She seemed fine when we took her to daycare this morning. But by 10am they were calling. She has spotchy red hives/rash on her face and body.
I had a business meeting started at 11:30pm and included lunch. I had an earlier meeting so I missed their call and they got my hubby at his work instead.
Being less than 3mi from her you’d think I could go and see her and see what was up? But I couldn’t get out of this meeting.
Work or baby?
(more like Food or Feelings)
They said she was acting fine, no fever, eating well, just had a rash, so I had to just tell Jim it was all him. I can’t take time off work for ever bump, bruise and rash. It bugs me a bit that I couldn’t see her but I know I’m doing the right thing.
He went to see her and she was cranky. Of course being Daddy’s lil girl she just lit up when he came in and calmed right down. Pediatricians called him back (I gave them his number) and described what the rash SHOULD look like.
Jim said the rash was dead on for the description and the Pediatrician feel it’s the combo of the shot and antibiotics. They say it should clear up in 2-3 days, if not we have to take her in.
Still I think I just *may* have thrown a dryer sheet in with her clothes so I’m redoing all her clothes tonight. It’s the least I can do.
My poor baby!
I can only IMAGINE how it would have been if she’d had the Chicken Pox vaccination too. That one they point blank told me causes rash etc. Given her super sensitive skin I suggested she’d have a reaction and asked it be separated (against group procedures) but they allowed it.
Thank GOD!
UPDATE: ok.. now im even more confused. We picked her up at 6pm and she's fine. Not a red spot anywhere. She has sensitive skin so there's always red marks on her face where she misses her mouth with the paci and her arms from folks holding her or catching her. usually very light and small. Those were in their usual spots but no major blotching.. it just sorta went away.
Do you think its the milk? I had upped the amount to 4oz milk 2oz formula...

Re: We are having a reaction to the shots.. UPDATE: Im more confused
it doesnt make sense that it is a dryer sheet since it was on her face...
i do know that when i had the reactions to bactrim i had hives on my face and body... the common manifistation apparently....
if it was milk i think you would continue seeing it everytime you gave some....
but if she doesnt have it when you picked it up maybe they just overreacted
