We are re-doing our main bathroom & need recommendations/help!

We are getting ready to remodel our main bathroom. Right now we have a stand up shower & a separate tub right next to the shower. But they are two separate units. I want to make it one big unit with a bathtub & shower.

We basically need design ideas because I also want to add a small vanity.

Where do we start? Do I just go to Home Depot & Consumers Kitchen/Bath and go from there? We need someone to come in measure & help us with design ideas.

I need some recommendations?
Is it realistic for this to be done around $10,000.

Thanks so much!

Re: We are re-doing our main bathroom & need recommendations/help!

To save money we did the demo ourselves. Our bathroom is very small, so there wasn't alot as far as design or placement, we kind of had to go with where everything was originally, but made it a little bigger. Here are some ideas:

1. You don't mention if you have a linen closet or not..if you do, this is not pertinent, but if you don't possibly consider not extending the tub and making it one big space. Include the shower in the tub and make the shower space a closet for storage. It's useful and adds value to the bathroom
2. Consider alot of different tile. We tiled the shower white subway tiles with white accent tiles. It was more economical and also if I decide to change out the shower curtain, I get tired of the paint color, etc. anything will match.
3. Home Depot or Lowe's can help you with design.
4. Not sure what your choice of sink is, if you are going with a pedastal or a vanity. Home Depot has their own line of granite counter tops that already include the bowl and backsplash/sidesplash in a variety of colors that are very economical.
