We are taking our very first family road trip and I have questions of all sorts
So we leave Wed. night for Niagara Falls. We are driving there and I am thinking it is going to take us between 9&10 hours. Going there we plan on leaving the middle of the night so I am hoping that the kids will go right back to sleep once we move them. Now my questions:
1.) Does anyone know what the climate is like there now? Is warm like here or cooler? Should I bring some pants?
2.) What should I pack for the car ride coming home. We plan on leaving Sunday morning and I think we will make 2 stops. We do have a DVD player.
3.) Now this one is confusing me the most. So my 2 year old is a stroller napper. If she is tired she will fall asleep. My 3 year old gets tired of walking after 10 minutes and then wants to be held. My stroller options is my single maclaren or my sit-n-stand. Now, lately my 3 year old doesn't want anything to do with the jump seat on the sit-n-stand and actually wants to sit in the front. I have been contemplating buying a side by side for a while now because of this. We went to Dutch Wonderland last Sunday and borrowed my friends side by side and after every ride DS went right back into the stroller and I really thought at one point he was gong to fall asleep. Now, do you think it is worth it for me to buy one. I borrowed the Chicco Trevi but the weight limit is 80lbs total and when they are in the stroller they are already at 65lbs combined and then add my diaper bag and whatever I buy, I feel like it's not worth it. Plus, I wasn't super impressed with it. I was going to get the Inglesina Swift twin but the weight total is 70lbs. So my next choice was a Maclaren Triumph. I have the Triumph single and really do love it. I would also use this stroller when I go out with them alone to the mall and stuff. Now, we are also going to Bahamas in Nov. and if they do well on the plane then I think we are going to Europe in the summer of next year so I figure it might be easier to get through the airport with a double.
Thanks

Re: We are taking our very first family road trip and I have questions of all sorts
we just got back from niagra... it was very warm up there.... definitely short weather.. dh went to school up there and he basically says they have two seasons... summer and winter... be aware that on the canadian side there is ALOT of mist from the falls so you may want to pack a small towel for drying off... it only took 7 hours to get there but we went the ny route NOT the penn route.. we left at 2 am which worked ot because he woke at 7... we fed him and then he napped for another 2 hours...
I DO RECOMMEND NOT GOING TO THE AQUARIUM... it was a total waste of money.. it has a sea lion tank and three other fish tanks...
if you are going to the canadian side park on the us side and walk across.. much easier...
why not get an umbrella side by side which would be light weight and easy to handle....

Thank you so much!!
I ended up getting an umbrella stroller after our trip to the mall yesterday. DH and I kept switching the kids so I am super excited about using it .
Is their any other things you would recommend?
