I don't know, I don't think that me saying I have a dog really makes a difference, ya know?
But I guess if people say they have an alarm with XYZ company, that could possibly be a little bit of a liability not talking about a dog BUT why would someone say (hypothetically speaking "I dont need a gun I have a dog"? Why wouldnt you want someone to think the worst? Its better IMO for people to think you were overprotected then underprotected OR better to know nothing at all.
honestly, unless you know me, you don't know where i live - i don't give that kind of info out. so even if i posted "hey i leave my door unlocked every night" who is going to be able to find me?
Didnt you do the last gtg? SOmeone could have followed you home. God forbid but never say never...
Someone could've followed anyone home... not just the organizer of a gtg. Here's a question... are YOU a stalker? Since you're so interested in the topic and have ideas of obtaining info. You make it sound soooo easy.
Edit for grammar
It's very easy to get someone's address. Zabasearch.com is a great resource for that (I use it at work). People post their last names all the time on here or on something linked to here. It probably isn't that hard to track someone down, and no, I'm not a stalker either.
And yes, someone can follow you home from McDonald's, but I think the difference here is that you (not personally) can potentially pi$$ someone off on here so bad that they would want revenge, and I think I've read about that happening on here in the past.

Yes, anyone, even from here, can follow you. Even the maniac on the road that is pi$$ed off because you would not drive at more than 30 mph over the speed limit. There are crazy people everywhere.
I think you have to be aware of your surrounding at all times.

That's a really strange question to ask someone who is trying to highlight the concerns of giving out information. Wouldn't she want to encourage people to continue to do so rather than point out the dangers of it?
