Re: DOG NEEDS LOVING HOME (Shepherd Lab)
so sad, you have had him for 7 years
Is there no way you can keep him, is he aggressive around your kids? Have you tried some training?
poor thing
If you cannot keep him, I hope he can find a loving, forever home

Re: DOG NEEDS LOVING HOME (Shepherd Lab)
oh no... quite the opposite. Not aggressive at all. Very very housebroken as well. He is the most loving playful dog. He loves the kids. My 18 month old son has an allergy to pets.

Re: DOG NEEDS LOVING HOME (Shepherd Lab)
yes he is. He is very easy going with other pets. Before the kids came we took him to dog parks all of the time. HE was very friendly. He's the kind of dog who backs off when my kids step on his tail lol. He is just a big mush really. When we were at dog parks he would tend to migrate towards all of the owners rather than the other animals.... he loves people. Any age. Very sweet. He would be a lap dog if you let him!

Re: DOG NEEDS LOVING HOME (Shepherd Lab)
I wish I could help out, he sounds like a perfect dog!!! My DH would never go for it though
With our 2 cats and a baby on the way.. I told him I wanted a dog but "we" agreed this wasn't the right time for one Oh well.....
Good luck finding a home for him though!!!
ETA: I should add that my older cat would literally have a heart attack!! My SIL's dog was blind and very slow before she passed away and my cat was even afraid of her!
Anyway...... he does seem like a wonderful dog!! I'm so sorry you have to part with him!!

He'd be perfect for us... but we need to wait until we sell our current house and are ready to move. I hope he finds a great home. I will keep my ears open for anyone looking. Good luck.

Re: DOG NEEDS LOVING HOME (Shepherd Lab)
I am checking with my in-laws who are finally ready for a dog (after losing theirs years ago).
Just wanted to make sure he is still available. If you already found a home for him that's great though!

As I am sure you may know...just please don't "give" him away to just anyone, esp be leary of someone that you don't know from Craigslist, etc. You want to be sure whomever it is will be a loving, caring, forever owner.

Re: DOG NEEDS LOVING HOME (Shepherd Lab)
Well it is hard to rush things with my in-laws. My father in law is recovering from minor surgery. Just thought it could be a good fit so I wanted to see what the status is.
If the girl going Sunday works out then that's great! If not, let me know and I will continue the conversation with my in-laws. If they were interested my husband and I could always help them out in the meantime.

Re: DOG NEEDS LOVING HOME (Shepherd Lab)
no rush Megan! Thanks. I would love it if they could meet him soon and then if it works out I could hold onto Jake for them until they are ready. Let me know. I would love to find someone soon.

Re: DOG NEEDS LOVING HOME (Shepherd Lab)
Does it not seem curious to anyone else that this person only has 7 posts and is trying to rehome her their dog here? I'm always wary about this kind of thing.
If you really wanted to make sure the dog goes to a good home bring him back to NSALA, they would ensure that anyone who adopted him would have a full background check.

Re: DOG NEEDS LOVING HOME (Shepherd Lab)
This is the forum mail I just recieved...passive aggresive much? I wasn't attacking, it just seems odd to me that someone would sign up on a website specifically to try to rehome their dog. I mean, really? The need to get so nasty and YOU JUST GOT HERE?
"You the hell do you think you are?
ok! Little do you know I have been conducting my own background check... as that is what I do for a living. And you have no right to pass judgement. Butt out. You have no idea what you are talking about and apparently you need a HOBBY! lol idiot"
