We found the best way to deal with telemarketers!
A telemarketer called on DH's cell phone the other day, even though we're on the do not call registry. We saw the "unavailable" or "out of area" on the caller ID, so we let DS, who is three, answer the phone. His side of the conversation went something like this:
"Hi! What are you doing? I'm outside playing with my trucks. It's really fun playing with trucks because you can drive them all over the grass and the patio and the table and the steps and the driveway..."
After about two minutes of this, DS turns to us and says the man is gone, where did he go? I guess the telemarketer got tired of saying "Can I talk to your daddy or mommy?"  I'm going to use this all the time!!!

The worst are the Fire Dept. calls -- every friggin DAY! Hello I pay over 11K in taxes, you are already GETTING my $$

Great idea! I also like to put them on speaker, place the phone down and walk away. The decibel level in my house usually helps them get the picture that I'm not interested in what they have to say, nor do I have time to chat about the extended warrenty on my car!

OH I put my 2 year old son on the phone everytime they call...I'm sure they enjoy listening to his baby babble...
