We got our CALL!!!
Monday night I was supposed to go to my best friend's house to make choc. covered pretzels (a tradition). But she called me and asked if she could come to my house first to scan a photo. She came over and we started to scan the photo. In the meantime Scott and my MIL (who is visiting from MA for the holiday) went to put Molly to bed. It was about 7:30pm. My phone rang and it was our social worker...I just looked at my best friend and literally she started to cry. My social worker said, "Michele, this is your call" I couldn't believe it. My bf was the first person who knew I had a BFP when I got pregnant, hours before Scott even knew and now, this time, she knows even before him I called Scott and asked him to please come in the room for a minute and I said, "This is our call". Our son, Bonkoka (bon-coca) is very healthy. The official paperwork says his birthdate is Feb. 6, 2006 but so far it seems that it is a very sure that he is a few month younger than that. Since there are no birth certicates in Ethiopia (unless you are wealthy enough or lucky enough to be born in the hospital) birthdays are really estimates. We are getting more info from the orphange and doctors but all in all he seems really healthy.
His name will be Jason Bonkoka Wagner Campbell. Bonkoka is a river in Ethiopia that he was named after. Wagner was my grandfather's last name but he was a stepfather to my mom and never had biological children. When he and my grandmother died the name was gone from our family.
It looks like we will be going sometime in January to get him. I wish it was before Christmas but we will just have to use the time to get ready for him. So once Christmas is over it looks like we will be going thru baby stuff and getting ready to bring our new son home
