They came this morning around 10 and I left the windows open in our basement to get the smell out. I noticed the smell coming upstairs but figured it would go away. I just got home (my mom and DH were home during the day with DS) and the house stinks of oil. They closed the windows in the basement and didnt open any upstairs. DS has been inside with the smell ALL day b/c he is sick so they didnt take him out.
Why couldnt they at least leave the basement window open?

Anyone? I am SOOOO upset about this.
I can't believe my mother and DH left DS in teh house all day witht his horrible smell with no windows open. I am ready to cry right now. I can't imagine it is healthy. I dont even leave him inthe house when we paint.

It's fine...I dont know how to explain it. But as long as it's a smell from the cleaning and not fumes it's OK.
We just recently had an issue with our burner. Essentially the "friend" of ours who had been cleaning it...WASNT cleaning it. So our burner was very dirty...thankfully we have a Carbon Monoxide detector b/c we could have died it was so dirty..
After the technician came to clean it properly I had asked him about the fumes for Caden and the above is what he told me...

THANK YOU!!!! They changed the filter and some other stuff. I didnt think the smell would linger for this long nor did I think they would close the basement windows and not open a window upstairs in the house just to circulate some fresh air. DS was breathing it in all day DH tells me I'm nuts b/c if it was that bad that it was affecting him he would be dizzy, have a headache or be throwing up which is probably true. I'm just such a worry wort about this stuff. Why dont people think?
