we have a new plan.. injections with IUI!
so i saw Dr. braverman yesterday so we can start a new cycle..
last month we tried Letrozole and BD'ed on our own.. which failed.. RE said my lining was very thin because of it.
so now he wants to start me on injections.. (follitism) with Estrace because of my lining.. which has been a problem for me since my 1st late loss.. all the scraping and such.. and now i have next to nothing AF's..
then i will trigger and go in for an IUI !
i am concerned however about the number of follies i will produce.. for the sole reason of having IC.. the RE said i can handle twins but nothing more.. and even twins is a risk 
i dont want to get ahead of myself of course , but its always something to think about..
so i ask you this... if you were in my shoes.. how many mature follies would you trigger with?

De, you know I'm so happy that you have a competent doctor and a solid plan.
I'd say 2-3 follicles would be ideal for you. I wouldn't trigger with more than 4.. and would be "iffy" about 4 in general.
I'd go the "less is more" approach for at least you first cycle and see how you respond.. KWIM? If you have 2 mature follies and don't get PG... then I'd say you might be okay with 3 the next time, KWIM?
And as we already spoke about.. injectables with IUI is just one of those situations where you have to be prepared for any outcome possible. Jon and Kate got pregnant with their sextuplets from Clomid! The risk is ALWAYS there, so just be aware of that... and let's just pray that things work out the way we want them to!
Did you discuss SR (selective reduction) with your doctor at all?

yeah, 2-3 is what i would say too. i'd have him very, very closely monitor the sizes of the follies and often. I know this isn't the typical outcome and I don't mean to scare you by any means...a good friend of mine did inj. and thought she only had 2-3 follies. well, more sprung up between u/s and IUIs. She was PG with quad, lost one and was PG with triplets, then SR to twins b/c the triplet was jeopardizing her health and that of the boys. It was so difficult for her. That being said, 3 months after the twins were born she got PG on her own somehow!

I say 2-3 also. But Braverman is a smart guy...he'll know how to handle you...

OH MY!! yea it is so scary... and i realize the risk of it.. especially with me.. i cant even hold one baby
but thank you for your honesty.. it is just teaching me to be more aware of what is going on!!

so i will just make sure dr. braverman keeps an eye on me .. so it seems that anything more than 3 is a little risky..
lets hope less is more for me!

When I did injectibles, the RE stimmed me verrry slowly and I was constantly monitored so I wouldn't produce too many follies for IUI. I think I ended up with 4 or 5.
They know what to do to get the right number.

how many follies did you make with the letrozole? The first cycle on letrozole I only had 1 follie and this most recent I had 2... so I think you should be OK- i'm not sure on the dose Braverman will give you that you'll have that many mature follies.

from the Letrozole i had 2 mature follies..
he told me that he is giving me the lowest dose on the injections.. so i have to pray that i dont get more than 2

I produced about 9+ follies with Follistim injections. I was told odds of multiples with injections+ IUI is 25-30%. You do not decide when to trigger, your doctor decides this based on estrogen levels and size of follicles on ultrasound. The major risks of injections with IUI are multiples and OHSS. I experienced OHSS and some residual cysts after trying 2 cycles of follistim with IUI. I also had a chemical one cycle but ended up needing IVF to get PG. I had unexplained IF.

Braverman seems to be really on top of your plan of action so I'm sure things will be fine... 
I am considering switching to him if our clomid/IUI cycle does not go well as I kinda have one foot out the door with ECF right now due to some issues...

I just did my first cycle and it was injectables with back to back IUIs. My history is different to yours (my IF is age related - high FSH, etc.) I have a good chance of having IC if I do get pregnant due to a LEEP years ago. Producing a high number of follicles was also a concern of mine but my Dr. balanced my meds perfectly and I ended up with 3, maybe 4, good follicles.
From what I read on here, Dr. Braverman seems to be one of the best so I'm sure he will keep a good balance and monitor you well.
Good luck. It sounds like a great plan. I did Gonal F and I had no problems with the injections at all.

Just want to send you some hugs. I was wondering how you made out yesterday. I knew Dr. B would kick it up a notch. So glad you have an awesome plan. I'm on my blackberry so I can't use the faces, but Good luck and loads and loads of baby dust.
