Re: We just booked a cruise!!
We've done a number of cruises. NCL is cool b/c you get to choose when/where you want to eat. We personally didn't care for that b/c we enjoy meeting up w/ our tablemates & discussing our tours/day adventures, but the freestyle cruising has its advantages w/ no set time for dinner & a number of restaurants to choose.
You'll need at least 1 formal night outfit; research tours b4 you go; the tips for drinks are included IN the price of the bill (& prices tend to be crazy); the first day explore, explore the boat & get familiar w/ the layout; tour the ship b4 it leaves b/c everything is wide open & you can check out all the discos, dining rooms, gym, sauna, etc.
Have fuN!!!!!!!!

Re: We just booked a cruise!!
In Belize, I would plan an excursion ASAP. I think we had signed up for cave tubing, it filled quickly, then was unfortunately cancelled...but there isn't much to do in the actual city, so try and have something arranged. The kayaks were cool there, everyone was telling us they saw monkeys and crocs.
Cozumel is a BLAST. We went to an all inclusive beach there. They were so friendly, drinks included, great beach.
you are going to have a GREAT time!!!
my biggest tip: we bring our own liquor on the ship. Vodka and gin in water bottles

Re: We just booked a cruise!!
We took NCL to Bermuda...the freestyle dining was nice...and it was pretty casual too... even though there were formal nights, there were plenty of people in capris and t-shirts etc.
We snuck in alcohol too...saved a lot of money...they charge you a tip on everything you get, even if its just a glass of soda...

Re: We just booked a cruise!!
I have been on many cruises and they are by far, the easiest vacation you will ever go on. Everything is set up for you and all you need to do is relax and have fun.
I have been on NCL and it is a very nice cruise line. I went on the Norwegian Dawn out of NY.
Make sure you bring lots of clothes, since I always tend to change a lot. Especially since I like to dress up every night for dinner. You don't have to dress up everynight, but you are not allowed in the dining rooms with shorts, sneakers, tank tops. There is usually one formal and one semi-formal night on a 7 day cruise. NCL is a little different and they give you the option of dressing up. Which is one thing I wasn't crazy about, since I like when everyone dresses up.
You don't have to bring tons of money with you, since you can't use paper money on board. They give you a boarding card that is also used as a credit card. That is what you will carry with you at all times on the ship. The only place you can use cash is in the casino. They even charge all your land exsursions, and tips on to your card. Usually it just gets billed to your credit card and you get a statement at the end of the cruise.
You will need to pack the last night of your cruise and leave your luggage out side your state room. Just keep your carry ons and a change of clothing with you.
Make sure to fill out all your paper work at least a month before your cruise, especially your immigration forms, if you are leaving the country. It will make your boarding alot easier and faster.
Try to book some exscurions before leaving for your cruise. You can usually do this on the NCL website. Sometimes the popular exscurions get filed up quick and plus you don't have to wait on any lines to sign up. Your tickets will be waiting for you at your stateroom. More time to enjoy yourselves.
