We need sleep help-Sabrina AND Mommy

So the past three nights, Sabrina has been waking up in the early morning (two, three, four AM) crying and then screaming to get out of her crib. We let her cry a bit but since we both need to get up for work, we have gone to get her and bring her to bed.

Well, you guessed it, she wants to play. Chat Icon So, we try to ignore her while she climbs over us and tries to climb our headboard. Then she pats my boobs and winges that she wants "moo" Since I don't normally nurse her at this time, I don't let her and she cries. I ask her if she wants milk and she says "moo" and we get her a sippy. She drinks a bit, and eventually falls back to sleep but in OUR bed. Day three was last night and we did the same thing but this time she had a diaper leak (I think it was my faultChat Icon ) and so she needed to be changed and I don't blame her for crying. Unfortunately we couldn't get her back to sleep with a little milk, though, so at 2:30 in the morning, we took her for a ride around town. Fortunately she fell asleep, DH carried her and put her in her bed. Tonight I am hoping she sleeps well since she woke up pleasantly in her crib this morning.

BUT, if you are still reading, MOMMY needs help. The past three nights I have had severe insomnia. I can't fall asleep until 4 or 5 AM so when DD wakes up I am wide awake and stressed.

Anyone have any advice or hugs? I need them tonight.

Chat Icon i hate to say i don't have a lot of advice.....if nothing seems really wrong with her and you don't have a problem with it-you might want to try CIO.... seems like she is getting up to play and see you both. the payoff is that she is getting to see you and sleep in your bed. unless you are firm and don't give in i think it might continue on. i am no expert and this is just a suggestion.
i hope tonight is better and that was just a quick glitch!Chat Icon Chat Icon

Last week we had four nights in a row with dd waking up and standing up crying at about 2am. each time i tried CIO but after an hour she won and we brought her into bed b/c we were exhausted. By night four we held out the hour and a half until she went back to sleep. Since that night (knock on wood) she has been sleeping through, but waking at 5am instead of her normal 6:30Chat Icon

I am not sure what was causing the trouble, but hopefully your dd will get right back on track for you guys!

Good luck
