We now have a belly sleeper!
So the past few nights Bella has been flopping around her co-sleeper, in her Miracle Blanket, like a fish out of water. She wiggles all over the place. So last night, at about 1, she's flopping (again) and she's wiggled sideways and into the corner...her knee is starting to poke out of the swaddle and her arm is starting to unravel.
I thought to myself "This is it! Let the swaddling end..."
So I unwrapped her, put her on her belly and she slept like a rock!!!
Not to mention that it helped out her gas situation. She definitely channeled her inner truck driver and let em' rip while she was on her belly!!
Hopefully tonight she'll go down like that right away.

Okay, see, DS has started flopping around too and I'm terrified of him rolling over to his stomach.
Doesn't it scare you? And if not, tell me your secret!!

Re: We now have a belly sleeper!
Cailen has FINALLY, FINALLY slept beautifully since sleeping on his belly. I just bought that healthy sleep, happy baby book because we were going to take him out of the swing, and he is doing so well I'm thinking of returning the book...
Yes, I worry, but he's a loud breather, so I hear him breathe and snore all night, plus he has a cough, so I hear that too - all assure me he is breathing fine...
He wakes up one time at 2 for a bottle, but then thats it... he even will "put" himself to sleep - he did it today for a nap (and he's still napping!)
Belly sleeping is the best. I am definitely going to start earlier with baby #2 (a million yrs from now ) if the baby sleeps like Cailen....

Honestly, no. It really didn't scare me. She's had such strong neck control from the beginning that I wasn't worried about her smothering. She does move a lot during the night, so I'm always hearing her.
When I put her in the crib - that'll be a WHOLE other story

DD sleeps on her stomach now, and we can't stop her... she rolls over on her own, and even when we put her on her back, she finds her way back to her stomach. The first two nights I could barely sleep, I kept going in to check on her, but now I'm ok with it. I still peek in pretty often to make sure she's still breathing

I felt the same way until recently... Cailen is 5 mts now, and I know from sleeping on me when he is uncomfortable at all (hot and sweaty against me, or in a bad position) the first thing he will do is lift his head up and move it... There have been times he was face into me and lifted it to breathe better, so it made me feel better about putting him on his belly...
I tried a few times when he was 3 mts and just couldnt do it - I'd rather go thru the sleep dep than risk it. But as time went on, I felt better about it. I still wake up thru the night to check on him - but as I said, he snores and coughs so I hear him anyway!
You'll see - as time goes on, you will have a better feel of how Noah sleeps and you may get more comfortable about trying it - but when he is older and has more head control....
