I just wanted to answer your original question with my opinion. We have a Miniature Schnauzer, and he couldn't be more wonderful, especially with my children. DH and his family had ones for generations, and so do many posters on here. We happen to have a very mild-mannered male named Jake, and I love that he is so loyal, and more importantly for me, he doesn't shed or drool!
