We went on an official date tonight!!!
... and when date night starts with your DC pushing out 3 floaters during bath time, you KNOW the night can only go up from there!!!! 
We hired a sitter. I carried my stuff in a tiny wristlet. I didn't ever wear my mommy jewelry... Tonight , we were man and woman, once again!
And, after 16 months, it was NICE going out.
But, I did have my eyes on my phone, and talked about Cailen for practically the whole night.
Thats ok, right?

Totally ok. DS is almost 13 months old and we have only been on 2 dates since he was born and both times we spoke about him the entire time.

Technically, yes....
We went out for a quick diner on our 1st anniversary - he was 2 mts old- my stepdaughters watched him, but it was really quick and not enjoyable... then, last may, after he went to sleep, DH met me at a fund raiser dinner I was at for my daycare - its where he gave me my ring, but it wasn't really a "date", so this was the first official date where we went out with each other and had a real evening together!!!!

You need to do it more often... We don't do it nearly enough but I keep saying I'm going to do it more!
I always put the kids to bed and then go out, much easier that way...

We also went out for the 1st time to a date on a Saturday night. for our 2nd anniververary a couple of weeks ago.
It felt so good being just with DH in a grown up restaurant and no kids around.
I did not think about DS....
