Weather Proofing Sliding Doors?
My sliders s-u-c-k big time!
My house is freezing today - it's 65 degrees out which is gorgeous but my living and bedroom are ice boxes b/c all of the cool air from outside is coming in through my slidng glass doors. There aren't any visible gaps but I can feel the air coming in around the frame. Is there anything we can do? I have the same problem in the summer - heat comes in - but it isn't as bad as the cold!
I know I can put those strips - but the ones that I am thinking of are very unattractive. Is there anything we can do that isn't noticeable? And that will allow us to still use the doors? If it's something visible I want it to at least look neat KWIM?
Thanks!

You can have them resealed and then you won't be able to see it.

Re: Weather Proofing Sliding Doors?
We had a problem with our slider. It wasnt a seal issue, it was a track issue. Since our home came with lifetime warranty on all windows we called our builder and he put us in contact with the sub contractor. They came out free of charge and fixed the door.
I think with these homes they don't use very good quality. Even tho we had Penguin come in for a free estimate, they tested our windows and they got a very good rating, I feel as if they dont hold in the heat. The wood floors dont help either.
I would look into resealing them and hopefully that would work. I would also chk to see if this is something under your home warranty.
