"WED QOTD"
What are you plans once the baby arrives?
How long will you take off from work or will you be a SAHM?

Re: "WED QOTD"
unfortunately as much as I would love to stay home- dh and I need my income to make ends meet- so after 3 months back to work I go.
My mom and MIL will each watch the baby one day- so the baby will go to daycare hopefully only 3 days- maybe 2 if I can get my company to agree to let me work from home one day a week
I am definately envious of you girls that can stay home

Re: "WED QOTD"
I am a teacher so I get 60 school days off, not including long vacations.
I will go back to work when I have to and my mom will be taking off 1 day a week to watch dc, my husband can work from home 1 day a week, and my aunt who lives near by is taking 1 day a week. So that leaves us with 2 days of daycare and my aunts next door neighbor and family friend has a daycare in her house and that is who we will use for the othere 2 days.
But it works out really good b/c dh doesn't go to work till around 10ish (he owns his own mortgage company and makes his own hours) and I get home by 3:30 and only work 185 days out of the year.

Re: "WED QOTD"
I would like to be a SAHM at least for a little or possibly work part time in the neighborhood. My mom is planning on retiring soon and she's said it plenty of times that she would love to be a stay at home grandma so she would def help me out the days that I have to work.

Re: "WED QOTD"
I would love to be a SAHM but that is impossible, we just couldnt afford it on one salary so I will be going back to work once my maternity leave is up. Hopefully the woman who watches my nephews now who also watched my older nephews when they were babies will still be doing daycare otherwise I have no idea cause I have no family members that can watch my DC and daycare is so expensive Id rather stay home and work pt at night then pay for the daycare. I will worry more about it when I get a BFP cause no matter what I know it will all work out....it always does

Re: "WED QOTD"
I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to be a SAHM but unfortunatly that is going to be no where near possible lol.
Ideally I would work PT but most likely have to work FT. The baby would probably be taken care of mostly by mom with a couple of days in daycare to give her a break.

Re: "WED QOTD"
luckily my job has an awesome maternity policy. i should be able to take up to 6 months off- 6-8 wks dbl depending on the type of delivery; 3 months fmla and after fmla they let you take vacation time.
the plan is for me to take 5-6 months off. after this, DH will change his shift so that we works nights and weekends. this way one of us will be there at all times.

Re: "WED QOTD"
DH and I have not set anything in stone yet. We have so many variables in our lives right now.
My company is closing my office in June so I won't have a job then...so I don't know. If I am preggers(hopefully will be) then who knows.
I would love to be a SAHM until my children start school but I don't know if that will be possible financially escpecially living on LI.

Re: "WED QOTD"
Honestly, I'm not even sure how long I get off from work, but that is how long I will take. I love my job and can't imagine quitting now.

Re: "WED QOTD"
My DREAM is to be a SAHM. I work from home so it's good that I am able to do both...I would sacrifice anything to not have to work and have my job be running the house and my children Hopefull I can do that..

Re: "WED QOTD"
I wish I could be a SAHM but that is not possible. I do plan on taking the entire 12 weeks of maternity. I'm lucky because my comapany pays my full salary for the first 6-8 weeks depending on how I deliver and then the remaining 4-6 weeks I can use vacation and personal time that I have built up. For the time left after that we are just going to save money from our tax return to pay the bills. But the bigger problem is what will we do when I have to go back to work!

Re: "WED QOTD"
Well I'm definitely going to take the full maternity leave (6 weeks, 8 if it's a c-section), plus FMLA (4 weeks).
I HOPE after that I can go down to part time for work-but that all depends on where our financial situation is at.

Re: "WED QOTD"
I am a teacher, so our plan is for me to take a year off from school. We live in a coop now (will buy a house once baby is on way or here) and I work as many extra hours as I can plus tutor so that once we have a baby, I can stay home for that time.

Re: "WED QOTD"
I am teacher at a private school. I get 6 weeks paid, 6 unpaid. Ideally, and I know this is a wish, I would deliver in May and be off through the summer, so I would really get 3 months with pay.

That was my plan, except take off the following year too! That didn't work out though. Still waiting for that BFP...all "good times to leave school" are out the window.

Re: "WED QOTD"
My dream too would be to be SAHM. I am teacher so I will probably take some time off and then go back.. we wnat to buy a new house so I am not sure how we could do it all if I didn't work. I am ok with working and having kids. My DH owns his own company so his hours are a bit more flexible then mine... he would probably take the morning shift and I would do afterschool. I can already picture my future kids totally dressed WRONG in the morning (-: I only wish I had this problem LOL
