Re: Wedding cake at 1 year anniversary?
We ate ours last year. I just took it out like a day or two before and put it in the fridge. It didn't taste gross but it wasn't great.

Re: Wedding cake at 1 year anniversary?
I know... i am sure its gonna be gross.. but we didnt eat it at the wedding, except for when we fed each other cake.. because we were both so drunk and dancing like fools....
and look at my aviator.. thats what we got 9 months later
I figured it would just be "ceremonial" for us to do it.... I am already planning what to do for our 1 year anniversary... haha.. I just hope we dont get preggo again!

Re: Wedding cake at 1 year anniversary?
We froze ours. Our anniversary is in less than 2 weeks. I guess we will take it out the day before to defrost. I hope it doesn't taste too bad.
We still haven't made plans because I found out I'm pregnant and with all the businesses letting people go, we held off to make sure our jobs were safe. Which they are, but now what do we do with one week to plan. Might just do a bed and breakfast or something.

Re: Wedding cake at 1 year anniversary?
we didn't freeze ours. we ate it the day after the wedding. LOL. It was too good to risk having it get ruined by freezer burn.

Re: Wedding cake at 1 year anniversary?
Got married in 2006. We ate ours in 2007 and it was good, not great like it was the day of, but good.
We went to one of my brothers and shared it with a whole bunch of family members. The kids were terrified, but would never turn down cake.
We wrapped it in the box. One layer of saran wrap, one layer of aluminum foil, one layer of saran, one layer of aluminum foil. A friend did hers in a tupperware container and she said it was BAD!

Our anniversary is in two weeks too!
We don't have a cake because our IL's ate it while we were on our HM. When I told them to save it they thought I meant my cake topper! My actual words were "save the top of the cake!" I should have been more specific! I am thinking of getting a small cake just for the two of us. My BIL has his college graduation the same weekend of our anniversary so we won't really be able to celebrate until our vacation in June.

That is what we did, wrapped it in saran wrap , foil, saran wrap and foil and put it in a ziploc freezer bag! Defrosted it in the refrig than set it out for about 1 or 2 hours and it tasted good a year later! We ate it last November on our 1 year! Good luck!

Re: Wedding cake at 1 year anniversary?
Sorry to crash, I'm not a newlywed; I got married in 2006.
My dad ate the top of our cake the next morning! LOL. He thought it was extra from the wedding. We couldn't have frozen it b/c of the transport to Australia, but still, my dad ate it!

Re: Wedding cake at 1 year anniversary?
We ate ours- it was pretty good for being a year old. We actually at a whole piece. If you got fondant I heard it seals the cake better. I guess it also depends on how you wrapped it and whatnot too.
DO NOT EAT THE FONDANT!! Just eat the cake

Yeah, we ate ours and we had fondant. The cake part was great! But we peeled off the fondant part. I kept it from drying out.
