Wedding dress shops
A friend of mine is getting married and we are going to look at dresses. It's been a while for me, so I can't really remember what shops were good. (or more importantly, which places were "bad" - want to avoid the nightmare ones - I remember there being a few places where dresses didn't come in until right before the wedding date etc and people were in a panic). Looking to stay in Suffolk County.
Any recommendations would be great!

I went to centereach bridal suite, bought from paradise bridal in patchogue, and briefly looked at wedding center in commack- the wedding center has a phenomenal selection but horrendous reviews- or at least they did in 12-13 when I was getting married.

Wedding center is horrible. I bought a dress there due to price and then had it altered somewhere else.
The place I bought my dresses closed. Bridal reflections massagequa was good.

Got mine at the bridal suite of centereach (in 2007). Got a great price and loved everything about my dress. Alterations were good. I had no negative issues with them.

Went to Helens Bridal in Commack. I planned my wedding in 6 months. Ordered my dress in August got married in January. Didnt even need to put a rush on my dress. Loved my experience with them.

My sister and I both got our dresses at Bridal Suit of Centereach. No complaints at all. Everyone there was great!

I got mine from the Wedding Center in Commack (back in 2003) and I had a great experience with them.
My sister got her dress in the Bridal Suite in Centereach (2009) and I thought they were very friendly there too.

Me too.
My bridesmaids got their's from Lilette's. Not the BEST experience, but not the worst. I know they have bridal dresses. I've also been to RK bridal to try on dresses and really liked the sstores.

Just bought mine at wedding salon of manhasset. Rosemary was the sweetest and Sonya the manager hooked it up! Love them both!! Got my dress in 1 week and they were honest to tell me the designer had my dress in stock. Didn't charge me a rush and gave me a discount.
Went today to try it on for the first time and everyone that walked by me was sweet.

I went to Bridal Suite in Centereach and had the best experience there! John,the owner, and the girls that work for him seriously went above and beyond for me, my mom and my bridal party!

They were my favorite bridal store. They didn't carry the designer I ultimately chose so I didn't order through them and I was bummed!!!
ETA: I wound up purchasing from Paradise Bridal- they were really good too, but Village Bridal was just small and attentive. They seemed as excited as I was. Lol

Same here. They lost my veil five days before the wedding and measured the hem wrong so the beading on the bottom wound up under the hem. The seamstress who altered my dress was fantastic though (she didn't do the initial measuring of the hem).
