"wedding" gift help

DH and I were just invited to a wedding reception at a local restaurant for my co-worker and his boyfriend

They are going to Canada to get married and then are having a dinner "reception" when they get back

What would you give them as $$ or gift?

Also, what would you wear and how would you suggest DH dress?

Re: "wedding" gift help

I would wear something a little dressier than a regular nice dinner out.

Gift would be the same as any other wedding gift.

Re: "wedding" gift help

Wear what you would wear if you were going dressy to dinner at that restaurant. If it's a real upscale place, dress that way.

My sisters dinner reception was at an italian restuarant in Greenwich Village and I wore a black pants suit and a red shiny button down top (it was a week before Christmas though!).

For the gift? I would give $$$ and give what you feel comfy giving......same as at a reception hall IMO.

I also agree. Do not give anything less than you would at a "traditional" wedding.

Regular gift as any other wedding and I would wear dressy/casual. Something that can go both ways.

Re: "wedding" gift help

Thanks ladies....Its not that I dont view this as a true wedding (these 2 guys are more in love than some hetero couples Ive known)

I just wondered since we're not actually going to the ceremony plus being a dinner not a party/reception if there is anything I needed to consider
