Wedding.... WWYD?

So, one of my friends is getting married in a little chapel on the 17th of March - app 1 month after Kristina is due....

I am invited, but I would have to bring Kristina with me...

I'm not as worried about bringing her to a chapel as I would be with a casino chapel, but, I'm not sure yet.... I'm more leaning to not going and just having them come visit us.....

Opinions ladies?

Is the chapel connected to the casino? Would you have to walk a one month old through the casino to get to it? If it had a separate entrance, or one that didn't take me to the casino, I would probably go (meaning I don't have to take a baby through the smoky casino). If not, I would probably pass and just have them come visit after.

I would go but only if baby wouldn't be subjected to cigarrette smoke.

If they are really your friends and want to witness this particular milsestone in their life, then I say go. Better yet, make up your mind after she is born.

Re: Wedding.... WWYD?

Pediatricans recomend not taking a baby less than 6 weeks old out in public places (i.e. malls, casinos, weddings, etc) b/c they are so small and have not had any immunizations yet. I would not risk having my DC get sick to go to the wedding - sorry. A little fresh air in a backyard or in a stroller around a block is a lot different than taking the child to a wedding. People will want to touch the baby and you don't know if they have colds...it is not something I would do. Sorry.

That's exactly why I'm on the fence.

This is NOT going to be a chapel associated/linked to any casino.

And.... it's going to be a small wedding... like maybe 10 people and that's it - so the ability to tell people that I would prefer they not touch her would be super ez....

I would go but that's just me. I also went out with DS when he was only 1 week old - people thought that was crazy. It's whatever you truly feel comfortable with.

I wouldn't go because you'll be staying in a hotel with a smoky casino - they all have them! And you'd have to walk the baby through it each time you leave your room. And the baby won't have had all of their immunizations so the plane isn't a safe place not to mention a dirty hotel room.

Sorry! I didn't realize you lived there Chat Icon

If you were in and out of a chapel, then as long as there weren't too many people its probably safe. I would ask the pediatrician about it.

Agree!
In fact DD #2 wasn't even 1 week yet. She was 3 days old and DH and I went food shopping, target etc. By the time she was a week I felt like I had her for a month b/c she went everywhere with me.
Hence DD # 1......... I took NO where until she was 7 weeks. So you do what you are 100% comfortable with. I was very uptight with #1. But not at all with #2 .

Re: Wedding.... WWYD?

Do whatever you are comfortable with. A lady at my church brought her 6 day old baby to church on Sunday. DH couldn't stop staring at the baby. DH kept making faces and smiling. The funniest thing was when DH thought the baby was smiling at him. I said sorry to burst your bubble but I don't think that's a smile. That's gas.

Re: Wedding.... WWYD?

I'd probably wait until after Kristina is born.

If she is on somewhat of a schedule and you aren't sleep deprived - go for it.

If the guest list is only 10 people you really have nothing to worry about. Just bring to antibacterial with you and make everyone use it before they come close to her Chat Icon

We are going to a dude ranch for a family vacation in August, approximately 6 weeks after baby is due.
