Wee Burn Country Club in CT - evening wedding attire?
Has anybody ever been there for an evening wedding? Just wondering what the ideal attire is. The invite only stated "Jacket and Tie Required".
I bought a few dresses, but I don't know if the long dresses are too formal for the location. The Coral dress hasn't arrived yet (hopefully by tomorrow), so I don't even know if it will even fit. My mom loved the long dresses on me and thinks I should keep them both "just in case". (That mentality is filling up my basement and putting my husband in the poor house. )
Any opinions? Image Attachment(s):

I love the green one! I've never been there, but as far a I know Darien is pretty ritzy & the place seems pretty old school, so I'd go with the long dress. It's not super glittery or anything, I think it is very classy & refined, which I would think would be appropriate.

Re: Wee Burn Country Club in CT - evening wedding attire?
Thanks for your opinions girls!!!! Looks like the coral dress won. ![Chat Icon](c/5.gif)
I walked out to show my DH the coral dress and his response was "Holy sh*t! Wow!" He liked the black one on me, but he felt the coral one was a show stopper and was more appropriate for the location/event.
So now I need some other opinions.
1. I was thinking about having the dress hemmed to above my knee. My DH definitely thinks I should do it, as above the knee is more flattering on me and my legs are one of my assets. BUT part of me wonders if it will cheapen the look of the dress. As much as I prefer above the knee, I wonder if it will be too risque for the event? My DH says "Nonsense!" as the dress isn't skin tight or very revealing, but he's also a man and has a different "perspective". LOL ![Chat Icon](c/19.gif)
2. and then there's the shoe issue. Silver or Gold?

![External Image](http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41yLK3P24pL._SL500__SS140_.jpg) (I attached a bigger photo of the gold ones)
I love style & the heel height on the silver ones, but I think this dress lends itself better to gold. Although the silver ones have iridescent stones, so they throw a lot of different colors. My DH says the silver ones work, but he's also biased because of the higher heel. ![Chat Icon](c/19.gif)
I've been looking online for a pair of higher heeled gold shoes and so far the only decent ones in my size are these:
Ugh...never take for granted your normal size feet and boobs!!!! Everything for me is a project. I can't just go out to a store and buy what I want/need. Image Attachment(s):

I really love the length of the dress as is. But if you were going to hem it, I'm sure it would look just as nice if it fell just above your knee... and I think hemming to just above your knee wouldn't cheapen it at all. Anything shorter than that, IMO, is risky.
Normally I prefer gold over silver, but I think silver will work better with the coral.
GREAT DRESS!
And I agree, wholeheartedly, about the normal boob size... big bubbies are a PITA!!!!!!!

I love them all, they are gorgeous! Since I grew up in CT and have been to many many weddings there I would go with the coral one!

I would hem it to just above the knee--so see that curve in at the side of the knee--that is very sexy & very flattering to legs. Just don't make it a mini-skirt!
I dont'know about the shoes--I think the silver could work b/c of the beads, like you said.
I can't buy shoes in regular stores either & it drives me crazy!

I LOVE the coral dress...I like the length, but if you're more comfortable with it horter, go for it! I thik hemming to the knee would ne a nice length as well...basically hitting at your knee cap. Go to a tailor and have them pin it for you with your shoes on...go with the most flattering.
You could totally go silver or gold with the dress...for this, I'd go with silver...the beading will pick up some coral and compliment the dress well...

Re: Wee Burn Country Club in CT - evening wedding attire?
I like the silver shoe better BUT, the gold shoes like they would be more comfortable. My feet tend to slide in shoes like the silver ones.
I would hem it to at the knee or just at the top of your knee cap. The hem that it currently is at annoys me so that is my reasoning

Love the coral dress!
Definitely the silver shoe!
And I would hem it. Funny because I was thinking that before you even mentioned it, I know my legs look better when you can see my knees.
