Yep I was counting the days til I graduate - now I count the days til I go back and visit again!!!!
Sure you can buy a huge house for 100K but then you only make 25K a year!
do you have family there?

Oh, I miss Wegmans!!!!!!! I was upstate for school too, and I loved that store! DH's sister also went there (after I graduated) and his whole family loves it! I don't know what exactly it is, it's just awesome!!
Insider info (sort of ) - on our way up there for my reunion, my friend sat next to a guy who works for a candy distributor and he was talking her ear off and told her that Wegmans does have plans to build a store in LI!  This was about 2 weeks ago.

The last time I was in Syracuse my old roomate got these skewers of chicken that were marinated in speidie sauce. So, so good!
Naturally, now that I don't live on LI they are going to put one there...

When I hear that all I think of is that commercial for Irondequoit Dodge (with the Italian accent!)
One is in Greece, one in Brockport, and the other just moved from the city to Chili.

All LI supermarkets stink, they are so much better anywhere.

I <3 Wegman's.
Matron of Honor grew up down the street from the Syracuse one on Erie Blvd. Her mom was supposed to bring a Challah from there for my Bat Mitzvah.
Went to College in Binghamton, used to go the Johnson City store all hours of the day and night, and my friend still works there.
And -
ONE JUST OPENED UP NEAR MY PARENTS' HOUSE IN BALTIMORE!!!!!!!!!!! (Which is only an hour away!!!)
Someone once tried to tell me that it was only a Supermarket. Ha! I laugh at them.
Oh, and MrsProfessor - you're in Brewster?! You should just go to Stew Leonard's! It isn't Wegman's but I miss that place just as much! (Also, GREAT ice cream in New Fairfield, right near the intersection of 39 and 37, called Sprinkles, but they're only open in the summer)

There is one near us and at first I could not figure out what the fascination was and then I tried the food they made on site and it smacked me in the head. The food they make is really great. The cakes are bakery quality with bakery prices to match, but the premade dinners are fab and not too out there on price.

I have to say, a lot of the Wegman's brand foods are awesome! Especially their marinades! Our family and friends rave whenever they visit!

Me too!! I love that store!!! I used to go to the candy aisle and get a huge mix and match bag of Jelly Bellys.
My roommates and I would make Wegman runs.

I lived in Buffalo we had them allover what so great about it is THE DAY CARE CENTER!!!!!!!! loved that you could put the kids in there and run and get what u need!

I LOVE Wegmans. I miss it.  I took DH there when we went up to Ithaca just to show him how great it was. They have a huge international foods section, which is much better than any stores down here. They also had the biggest freshest vegetables. I also loved the prepared food at Wegmans. DH and I go to Stew Leonards, which is great, but it doesn't compare to Wegmans.
