Weight and Infertility
I gained about 30 lbs since my wedding 2 years ago
I am petite (5'2") and I have only started spotting before my AF since the weight gain, which was pointed out to me by my SIL, who is very overweight and said the same thing happened to her.
Do you think my weight gain can be a factor in my difficulty?

Re: Weight and Infertility
Fat cells affect fertility. The fat cells contain acid which can interfere with your cm/fertility. Fat cells also produce estrogen. You can have too much estrogen and that of course can cause the spotting. You get estrogen from two places, the follicules that grow in your ovary and fat cells. Changing your diet to less acidic foods can help, increase vegetable intake. Cut back on sugars, wheat products, caffeine, alcohol, soda and anything that's fun and tastes good lol j/k lol

Re: Weight and Infertility
Jen, I thought this was the case for me as well. I met DH three years ago, since that time all in all, I have gained about 35-40 lbs. I lost about 15 of it for my wedding in Oct of last year and have since gained it back.

Re: Weight and Infertility
cut back on caffeine!!! aaahhhh!!! that's what I am having the hardest time with .
Marcie, I can't believe it's almost a year - congrats!
My DH did the Nutra System diet this year and lost 70lbs over a course of about 4 months. I think I am going to try a few months of it. My goal is 30 lbs. Starting Monday, I am cutting back the caffeine and Michelle, I will definitely keep in mind to cut back on acidic foods and increase the vegetables.
Thanks all

Re: Weight and Infertility
I just want to clarify, acidic foods aren't lemons, limes and oranges :) In fact limes are one of the most akaleine foods. Try to include a lemon and a lime in your water....right before O. Drink lots of water as well.

Re: Weight and Infertility
I was overweight before getting pregnant. I went on Weight Watchers and lost about 10 pounds and got pregnant. Granted it was not a huge weight loss but I think it had something to do with me getting pregnant.
