Re: Weight gain check in!!!
At 31 weeks I have gained 13 pounds.
People ask me what are you doing, is it intentional? I could not believe it, I would never starve my child.
Firstly, I was not a skinny girl to begin, secondly, I eat when I am hungry and when I am full I stop.
I just do not eat to be eating.

Re: Weight gain check in!!!
If you were thin to begin with you are supposed to gain MORE than someone of average weight. If you are overweight to begin with you are supposed to gain LESS weight than someone of average weight.
For those that only gained a few pounds and are past 30 weeks (myself included), I dont think any of us did anything special to only gain that little bit of weight. At least I didn't. There is no secret. I eat normally. Everyone's body is different & your body will gain what it needs to support your baby. Do not compare yourself to someone else.
Some women lose weight due to morning sickness, but this was not the case for me. I had no morning sickness at all. I lost weight due to having a low appetite in the 1st timester & I had for force myself to eat. I gained my appetite back in the 3rd trimester & gained back the weight I lost. At 39 weeks I am only 2-3lbs above my pre-pregnancy weight, but my weighed in at healthy 7lbs on Monday.
As long as your baby is healthy, that is all that matters.

I had Hyperemesis until 20 W PG so I lost about 14lbs. I did gain it all back and a few extra lbs and then got the flu a few weeks ago and lost another 5lbs and put me back at the negative. So its been a yo-yo battle....hence my still negative loss.

Re: Weight gain check in!!!
I actually lost 3 lbs between my last 2 appointments, but that's also because I had to modify my diet since I was diagnosed with GD.
I was also overweight prior to getting pregnant, so I'm pretty sure I'm on target with my weight gain at 30 weeks. My Dr. has not said anything about my weight gain.

Re: Weight gain check in!!!
At 25 weeks, I was up about 22 lbs. It's taken me a while to be okay with gaining weight, but I always remind myself it's for It does kill me to hear that many of you only gained a few pounds, but we are all different. My body doesn't (thankfully) really look like I've gained as much as I have, but I can definitely feel the difference.
I've been really lucky in that I didn't have any M/S, aside from a little nausea in the 1st trimester.

Re: Weight gain check in!!!
Everyone's body reacts differently to being PG -
For ME, I've reacted REALLY weird - Lol I have had the most random food aversions and my normal appetite has probably been cut by 2/3 .....
I have been very very lucky and have not had any M/s - but I think the reason I'm not gaining a lot of weight is b/c my body isn't letting me eat a lot at once, and it's kind of forcing me to choose certain foods. I now life on oatmeal, fruit and yogurt -
Beleive me, I'm no health food nut. - But when you feel like you've eaten a 7 course meal after you've only eaten yogurt and a piece of fruit .......it forces you to eat very small meals.......I'm just not that hungry throughout the day -
And when I DO eat junk on the rare ocassion I crave something, even then, I can only eat a very small portion w/o starting to feel very full and bloated and 'blech'
I get a random feeling of starvation here and there - but at those times my 'eyes are bigger than my stomach' b/c once I start eating, the same full feeling comes back almost instantly -

Re: Weight gain check in!!!
My last pregnancy I was at 24pds at 30 weeks and ended up gaining 32 total. I was at normal weight to start- not too thin, not overweight. It took me nine months to lose the weight- even with dieting and exercise. I didn't lose with breast feeding like most people- I actually held on to the last 10 pds until I weaned my DD.
This pregnancy I gained 19 pds as of 29 weeks. I did nothing different this pregnancy, in fact the last one I had time to work out everyday. It really doesn't matter in the end. Please don't worry about the amount you gain- unless your doctor tells you otherwise Enjoy, indulge a little and have fun- this is the ONLY time in your life its encouraged to gain some weight so revel in it!

Re: Weight gain check in!!!
33 weeks, I've gained about 30 so far (twins). It is normal to gain weight during pregnancy, I don't compare myself with anyone else. For me almost all the weight came on during the second trimester. IF my doctors are happy with my gain, then so am I. I've got two babies in there, along with all the other stuff that goes with them, so gaining weight is going to happen.

Re: Weight gain check in!!!
Went Monday- at 29w 4 days... was up 19 1/2 pounds...
Doctor said it was totally fine and normal... but now hearing all of these LOW numbers and negative numbers, I feel bad about it
ETA: I was average weight pre-pregnancy...basically it looks like I have gained weight all in my belly...
