Weird symptom at 30 weeks... SMELL cravings for Vicks Vaporub?
Is anyone obsessed/addicted to SMELLING anything?
THIS IS NOT A JOKE...
I am always craving the smell of Vicks Vaporub!!!
I keep it next to my bed and everyday, at least three times a day, I feel the "urge" to douse a kneenex with it and inhale the tissue (like the way ppl are chloroformed before they're kidnapped in the movies). It really feels like satisfying a craving!
I've been trying to research whether this is safe or not all night, and can't seem to come up with anything. If you have any knowledge/reasons/advice as to how this could harm my child, PLEASE let me know so I can "ween" myself off this addiction. Boy, pregnancy really does weird stuff to you!

At least you know your pillow isn't harmful to sniff!

The now sell tissues with the vicks smell in them. My parents were addicted to them. I believe they are by Puffs!

i can sympathize....as bizarre as it sounds, when i was pregnant with my son, i LOVED The smell of my basement....so weird.....hmmm...might have to go check it out in a bit and see if i love it again! hahahaa....

ask your doc.
Buy the inhaler- its like a tube of chapstick that you just smell...

I used to always carry a vics inhaler w/ me. But those were my "clubbing days".
Anyway, not sure about smells, but I know if you start craving really bizarre things to eat, like charcoal, you should contact your doctor. It could be a sign of something else.
