Well, I guess I got the last laugh on Target
From my earlier post, Target wouldn't accept ANY of my returns even though they were clearly from Target on the tag.
I had to buy another car seat for DH's car, so I did some shopping anyway.
I bought a Graco Comfort Sport and some other baby items (gerber organics, bibs, enfamil, nipples, etc).
I figured I'd spent around $300 and was a little surprised when my bill came up to only $200 but I had used some coupons, etc.
Well, DH just looked at the receipt and they didn't charge me for the car seat!!
I swear I saw her scan it, but I guess it didn't read and neither for us noticed.
So the real question is: Do I try to return it without a receipt?

Count it as a blessing.  Something may be coming up where you may need the money you would have spent on the xtra car seat.

perfect day for this post, I CANT return an item because its OVER the 90days, and I even have the receipt and its brand new in box !  
( I was on the phone with a few of them in corporate today, and kept getting the "ma'am our policy is..."
and at one point I was like "PLEASEEE DONT TELL ME WHAT YOUR POLICY IS FOR THE 18th time !!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
YAYYYYYYYYYYYY !!! you made my day !

When did Target get so tough? So far (knock on wood) I've never had a problem w/o a receipt! Is this a new policy? If so, I'm going to think twice about shopping there! I always loose receipts!

Don't feel guilty!!!! Target SUXX when it comes to returning things. I hate them for that reason and that reason alone. They are HORRIBLE.
So take that carseat and use it and smile every time!!!

Not a chance I'd take it back.
I made 3 trips to Target last week over some dishes that we bought. The first batch was missing a plate. The second batch had all broken salad plates. The third time waiting in long return lines, I went up the woman behind the counter & said "I need you to open the entire box because if I have to drive up here one more time, Target is going to start paying for my gas."
She looked at line behind me & said "Think of how I feel."
I said "Um...you're getting paid to do returns."

Same here! I've never had an issue in the past. I'm really bad with losing receipts though, so this makes me nervous.

That is great-my DH will totally appreciate this story his head nearly disengaged from his body when I tried to return stuff there that I got as baby shower gifts.

screw um' keep it!
odd enough...they are so strict but if you go in...and there is a sale or u claim there is..and it scans wrong..they ask you how much it is and just do it..they don't even look, it happens to me all the time there.
Too bad they do not sell filet mignon or something.

I just know Im going to get flamed for this but Im surprised at how many people are applauding that the OP "got over" on Target? I'm not saying she purposely stole a carseat but she did walk out with a $100 item that was free by accident... Like I said, I'm more surprised than anything that everyone is cheering. I understand their return policy s*cks, I've been in the same boat as everyone when it comes to returns but that doesn't justify being gleeful about sticking it to them IMO. I always give everyone gift receipts to avoid return problems. Their other issues may be annoying too but it still doesnt make it right.
Someone had to say it. Flame away.

I completely agree with you. Ok, so their return policy stinks, but is that any reason to justify the $100? I have gone back to store because they undercharged me. IMO, I would bring it back and have a clear conscience.
