Well that wasn't so bad, after all (taking away the pacifier)

DC were using it for naps and nighttime only - DS started chewing them all apart and we had decided that we would get rid of them around their 2nd bday anyway.
So yesterday the decision was either buy more pacifiers or get rid of them, and we decided to get rid of them.
DS went right to sleep last night. DD screamed for the binky for 3.5 hours. I felt awful, like I took away her best friend.
Then today, I was dreading a nap. They both asked for the binky, and I told them we were giving them to the new baby. They went right to sleep.
Tonight, again, DD started to complain she wanted the pacifier, but it only went on for about 5 minutes. Then DD and DS played with each other for a little bit and fell asleep.
I'm in total shock thats all it took.
So for those totally dreading taking away the pacifier - it might not be that bad!!

I need to do this stat...DD was never attached to it and now all of the sudden she keeps asking for it..I think it's bc she's getting her two year molars, so feel badly taking it away from her NOW..she only uses it for naps and sleep as well...

That is so great to hear Lauren! It was the same for us, they were too little to actually ask for it though. They would look in the crib, but then just go to sleep. It was one night of crying for 15 minutes, and that was it!
