Re: Went into an H&M today for the 1st time ever
I agree about H & M being a hit or miss. I have bought a few items from there- either I find a bunch of things, or nothing at all. I dont think the H & M is too "trendy". From my experience, I have noticed that they sell more basic clothing items then anything I would consider too trendy. H&M (from what I know) sells cheaper more affordable version of designer brands.

I was very disappointed! The quality of the clothing that I saw (I mostly looked at trousers) was so shoddy! I couldn't believe they charge $35 for pants that looked like they were disposable I could be wrong, I know a lot of you like this store. but I was so let down.
I was only in one once. And I dont think I came out of that store fast enough. Horrible! Just from what I saw anyway. Never went back. I am glad to see I am not the only one! I would rather shop in a store like Macy's and buy some good quality clothing on sale (they always have a sale!). I have bought several pairs of INC pants on sale, none of which were over $40 and I have them all for YEARS! they have all been worn, washed or dry cleaned 100's of times.

Re: Went into an H&M today for the 1st time ever
The only time I've bought stuff there was when I was pregnant and wasn't big enough yet to wear maternity clothes. So I bought a few pairs of pants at H&M. I didn't like them that much but it wasn't like I was going to wear them for long.

Re: Went into an H&M today for the 1st time ever
I never think that H&M will have high quality items. I always think of them as a great place to pick up a few trendy, inexpensive pieces that won't last more than a few wearings. I have a couple of sweaters I bought a while back that have lasted much longer than expected, but that's it. I don't even bother trying on pants in there anymore, which is a shame because they're almost always long enough for me.

Re: Went into an H&M today for the 1st time ever
OK, well the thing is that H&M has a bunch of different labels. each label is different. some are cheap and crappy quality.... others are more expensive but great quality.
so next time you go to H&M check out the label. is it.....:
Black label Red label Blue label Hennes Gold label L.O.G.G.
basically that is the order of cheap to expensive... with the exeption of LOGG which is more outdoor/workout wear.
H&M's motto is "High Fashion, Low Prices". They are known for good quality AT the prices.
Also, it must be said that the stores on LI suck... They dont carry the better labels for some reason. Every store is different.... I prefer the one on Broadway in SoHo for my style....

Re: Went into an H&M today for the 1st time ever
I was just at the one at the Source this past weekend and I have to agree that the one on 5th Ave has a MUCH better selections...I wasn't crazy about alot of the stuff they had...
I still found a cute black casual jacket for the spring - looks like a woman's version of members only and I always load up on their accessories...they are super affordable and I don't feel guilty if I don't wear them more than once or twice because I didn't spend alot on them
