went to a 1 year old birthday at Atlantis yesterday...figured I would share my experience
Hey all,
yesterday we all went to a first birthday at Atlantis Marine World. Figured I'd write a mini-review for everyone because it was different.
1. Price was great. I was quite surprised, only $18 a kid. Included pizza, fries, 2 hour party, cake & visit from the Octopus character.
2. party included a tour with a guide...Personally, very helpful but only appropriate for the over 6 crowd. I know my DS who is 2 could care less, he just wanted to run around and look at the fish.
3. I was quite surprised how small the aquarium is. And also how they don't have a parking lot.
Overall, we had fun but I wouldn't have a young child's party there, but I thought the value of it was great!!

I wouldn't recommend it for a first birthday. Since a 1st birthday is usually for adults, pizza & fries???? JMO

Oops – pressed enter too soon.
I actually went to a 1st birthday party that was a pretty fancy type thing. Passed hors d'oeuvres big buffet and open bar. It was really nice. I'm sure it was pretty though. I don't remember a tour giude but they did have someone come in and bring a snake and do a talk. The kids really liked that. DH did not. And the rest of the time we were able to just wander around the aquarium at our leisure.

The price is good but the only caveat is that you have to have a minimum of 30 children. That was the requirement when I looked a year ago.

I believe I read that even though it's only $18/kid, you also have to pay for adults.. is that true?

My SIL looked into booking a party there and yes she did have to pay per adult as well as a child. It was not going to be cheap.

It's not 30 children - it's 30 people (15 kids + 1 parent each = 30 person minimum).

I just had DD's 3rd birthday party there. It was within the range of pricing given at almost every other place I looked.
