Went to contract- want to kill seller- normal!!

Hi, so I went to contract this morning and my listing said no exclusions- and now the homeowner wants to keep the dining room light fixture. Ok I am just stressed I know but seriously I want to stab them, why wouldn't that be listed as an exclusion in the listing?
Seriously this may be the most stressful time of my life- ugh!!
Sorry, I just really needed to vent.

this is probably the most stressful time for you (hopefully)... let the cheapo have the light fixture. it's not a battle worth fighting. at least now the contract is signed so they can't change anything else. cheer up!! you have a signed contract!

Is it worth much? Let them have it. This way you can pick something new out with your DH and have memories of doing so.

Just let them have it. Believe me, it's not worth getting stressed out over something so small.

It does happen. But let them just have it. It's not worth the stress. GL with the purchase of your new home. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Make sure your contract states that they have to replace the light fixture with a builder quality light fixture....so you have something there until you choose to replace it.

I say fight for it, when we purchased our home she tried to do the same thing to me and I wasn't going for it.

The light fixtures not being included was not mentioned anywhere by anyone until the contract came to my lawyer.

Let me say that the foyer fixture would have cost me at least 500.00 for crap and 5-10k to match what is there.

I told her to keep her house and then they came back with a compromise, could she just keep the Tiffany light in the kitchen, the only one I didn't want, so I said ok...

FIGHT, Especially in this market......

We went through this when the seller who sold us our house decided she wanted to take all light fixtures after we already signed the contract. There wasn't much we could do about it. Hang in there.

I have bought and sold and I really don't think it is big deal. Just have her replace it with something or you go and buy a new one. The whole process is stressful.
