Went to labor & delivery yesterday - UPDATE in thread
I was having crampy pain Wednesday night so I called the doctor I was told that it was probably a result of my internal exam that day, but if the pain got worse, to go to L&D. So Thursday morning we went in at about 5 am only to get sent home. I was having contractions and saw them being shown on the monitor, but my cervix was only dialated a fingertip, so I came home. The contractions did slow down, so I thought it might have been false labor.
This morning, however, I lost the mucus plug and did have a bloody show, and my contractions for a while were 5 minutes apart and more intense than yesterday. I was peeing like every 20-30 minutes too. After I took a shower, though, they are coming less frequently. I called the doctor's office and only one of the NPs is in today, so I was told to just go back to the hospital if I thought I was in labor. Do you think it will be soon, or am I going to be walking around for a week like this? I am exhausted already because everytime I try to sleep a contraction wakes me up.

I stayed like this for about 2 weeks! However, after the MC and bloody show I lasted 6 days.

So, I went to the hospital again. Contractions were getting pretty painful and I just wasn't sure what to do. We played it safe and I went and got checked out.
Turns out, I have a UTI and they think that may be causing pre-term labor, since I am still only a fingertip dialated and only 37 weeks. I am going to take some anti-biotics and hope it clears everything up and stops the contractions. I am glad we went to L&D becasue I wouldn't have known otherwise and would have just suffered. I guess the lesson is - if you thnk you should go to get checked - go.
I am glad to be home since I know that things weren't going to progress, but am in lots of pain at times. I could use some hugs if anyone can spare. Thanks!

Something similar happened to me, but at 29 weeks....the good news for you is that even if the contractions continue, you are far enough along that everything will be OK. They have had me on bedrest since it happened to me and will take me off as of 37 weeks--thats what the doctors consider full-term. Good Luck and I hope you feel better!
