went to my first WW meeting today - questions...
if you are on WW - can you tell me do you follow the flex points plan or the core plan, and why did you chose that plan?
Did it take you a little time to adjust your eating and train of thought when it comes to food?
How long did it take you to start losing?

Re: went to my first WW meeting today - questions...
I think there has been a thread about Core vs. Points. I prefer points. I used the booklet they give you and then purchased one or two more. I kind of learned the points of many things I like so that I could budget the points. I tried to use the website to get recipes and tips. Iit got to the point where I'd point out the point value in everything, which got annoying to others..... Mind you, I am off WW now and TRULY need to get my arse back in gear.
ETA: I lost the first week. I continued to lose for all ten months I did it.

Re: went to my first WW meeting today - questions...
I just started also (on-line) and I chose to do the points because I think my main food issue is portion control.
Yes, on core I'd be allowed to eat unlimited amounts of what's on the list, but then I'm fueling my problem. I'm also limiting my options and once you stray from that, I feel like I failed.
With flex, I'm learning that I can have whatever I want, but just in moderation. I don't "feel" like I'mn on a diet. I'm just paying more attention to what goes in my mouth and making better choices based on the question..."is this really worth the points?"
I lost 4.5 lbs the 1st week and have been doing ok this week. I weigh-in on Monday (so I don't fall off the wagon on the weekends). Good luck!!!

Re: went to my first WW meeting today - questions...
I prefer flex because I can eat anything. Plans that limit what foods I can eat just don't work for me. It's fine for a "quick fix", but not something life long. You may ask how can you lose weight eating whatever you want - like on flex - the difference is Portion Control & in time you begin to make smarter choices, like Low Fat, high fiber foods.
It's not as hard to adjust, but it does take some time. I begin to view food differently.
With any change...there's a loss the first week. The trick it to stay consistant w/the change.
One thing I'm finding is this time on WW I'm going with friends. It's made ALL the difference. I feel I have the support of two AWESOME friends who both have the same goals as me.

I did the same for the same reasons. I started losing immediately but my understanding is the first few weeks is mainly water weight. First 2 weeks were 3+ lbs, after that it was about a 1-2lbs a week.

I do flex. I too need to be able to eat whatever I want whenever I want (with some planning of course).
Just like anything it takes a few weeks for it to become "part of your life" and something you no longer have to think and worry about constantly. Although you'll always have challenging moments it will definitely get easier if you stick with it - PROMISE!
I have lost 20 lbs so far but it's taken me 13 weeks so that's an average of 1.5 lbs a week. You do lose more in the beginning but everyone is different.
I have to agree with Lori too - I have some pretty amazing weight loss buddies and I highly doubt without them I would be as successful and committed as I am now.
Good luck!! WW is a great program!
