West Hollow Middle School in Dix Hills
If anyone works there or kids attend there-I have to tell you something.
My aunt just passed away and she worked there for 10 years. The staff there went through start to finish while my aunt battled breast cancer.
Besides the outpouring support they have given to my family they have been amazing-raising money for Breast Cancer just to name one.
Today was my aunts funeral. We left the church and went passed the school on the way to cemetery.
The trees that lined the road all had pink bows around them. There were a bunch of people glued to the windows and some people outside the entrance of the school.
Then at the side of the road were about 20-25 people all with thier pink ribbons on holding hands as the 40 car funeral procession passed by.
I can't begin to tell you how nice that was.
Of course the second we saw that I immediately burst into tears, as did my sister and my cousin and my entire family.
My family was so touched by this.
My aunt was one of those people that everybody knew-that was an inspiration to all. She was a hero. The amount of people that showed up at the wakes the last couple of days was astronomical. She touched the lives of so many people.
I just wanted to say how thoughtful that was this morning. it was like something you'd see in the movies. If you work there, or know someone who does, thank them for me. Because they made an impact on us today.
My aunt loved her job and this is a huge loss for everyone.
The district will fly thier flags at half mast for the next week in my aunts honor.

Soo touching!
I believe My neices and nephew went there a few years back. I think DH used to work there years ago... When I was with him, he worked at Sunquam.
That really is very touching.
I'm thinking perhaps you should send the school a card to let them know how they touched your entire family and how much it meant to all of you.

Some teachers touch the lives of their students in such a profound way... your aunt has clearly made a lasting impact on her students as well as the entire school! She will live on in all of their hearts.... I am so sorry for your loss! She sounds like she was a truly fabulous woman!

My DH works at Half Hollow Hills East. The soccer team sold bracelets last week in her honor. Although my DH did not know your aunt, he as well was most of the school have been wearing their bracelets in her honor.
