Wet dog smell even if dog isn't wet?
My dog has been smelly for the past week. She smells like wet dog. She gets a professional bath once a month and it's only been a couple of weeks since her last bath. I am so annoyed by the smell. I think I have hyper-smell still from my pregnancy.
Does anyone know what would cause this? I'm going to give her a bath myself today but is there anyway I can prevent this from occurring again?
She's a mixed breed with a coat like a Lab.

My pregnancy made me much more sensitive to smells and still has 2 years later.
My dogs get that smell when they are dirty. Try a bath again. Otherwise it's just your nose.

Has she been scratching since the bath at all, or biting her skin? Both of mine have been itchy lately, I wonder if it's allergies... We have Labs and I bathe them maybe twice a year, no kidding. They usually don't get that dirty and it's actually better for their coats not to strip the oils with shampoo, so we use an oatmeal based one that our vet recommends.

not sure what could cause it but I can recommend a great soap... it is called Fresh and Clean and I get it at Petsmart. My inlaws breed and show dogs and they swear by it... The smells lasts for like 2 weeks!

She's not scratching more than normal but I wonder if there's a gland clogged or something. The groomer did use perfume on her last visit and I never have her "scented".

it could be allergies. One of my dogs had a serious allergy issue and he smelled until we got him on medication.

I sometimes use a baby powder scented spray from petco on my dog to freshen her up in between baths. You just spray it on and brush it in.
