I started the Law Office of Kerie P. Stone 10 years ago this month!!!!!

And it has now been 18 years since I started practicing in the area of Social Security Disability and SSI. Where has the time gone? Can I be 25 again?

Before starting my law practice, I was a Supervisory Staff Attorney for the Social Security Administration, Office of Disability Adjudication and Review (ODAR, aka, “the hearing office”).

So much has changed since I started the practice 10 years ago. The Social Security Administration and most courts moved to their electronic filing programs at some point between 2001 and now. My office now scans every document and my staff and I can access our work via a very secure system known as cloud computing. I have access to my client files 24 hours a day 7 days a week but it is more secure now than it was when I was lugging paper around.

While some things have changed, much has remained the same, like the fact that I still believe so firmly in personal attention to every case and that I don't believe that bigger is always better. Now my only forms of advertising are LIF, word of mouth and a great network of other attorneys. I have more cases now than I did when I was spending tons on Yellow Book and Yellow Pages.

I decided to celebrate my 10 year anniversary with a change of scenery. I was in the same location for 10 years. My office is now located at:

The office is 2.2 miles east of the Sagtikos/Sunken Meadow Parkway and 1.7 miles west of the Smithtown Bull. I am available by appointment only.
