What a difference 2 months makes. [Before & Afters]
We picked Brinkley up on September 20th, when he was 9 months old. He so extremely shy that never fully stood up the whole time we were there. He just tried to melt into the floor.
I'm happy to report he's like a new dog, a brave trooper, and I am SO DAMN PROUD of him.
Here are some before and afters...
When we took him on walks, his head would be down, ears back, and tail tucked down.
Now he walks with his head up, tail up and wagging.
We also put him on a diet because he was already a little chunky when we got him and we kept him on the same amount of food they gave him. Note the fat rolls over his back leg. 
This was taken tonight, after only a week of "dieting". His rolls are almost gone! Only, do you think he looks hungry? 
And just because he's so damn cute, his "Eh?" face:
That's my boy.

I literally went like this  when I looked at those pictures.. I can not believe the difference.. Your baby is absolutely GORGEOUS beyond....... You have been the best parent any dog could ever wish for!!

You've done a great job with him!
You can see how happy he is in the new pics.
Where did you get him from that he was so shy/ nervous ? Poor Guy.

Thank you everyone!!
I won't lie, it wasn't a piece of cake and it's an ongoing effort. My current challenge is getting him comfortable in the bathroom and tub. Some things he just takes totally in stride and others require learning, patience and training.
Because I'm happy to do it, absolutely no complaints whatsoever, I don't talk much about all the work that goes into his socialization. I'd never complain, the rewards are just too great.
He has changed us as much as we have changed him. I am a better person because of him.

There can be a lot of reasons for this kind of behavior, but in retrospect, his breeder and I agree that it was all about socialization. Getting him out and about, showing him that even situations that are scary at first can have great rewards.
They had him for 7 months and knew that he needed more than what they could provide. So that's when they reached out to find him a family who could handle his "special needs". Us.

what a cutie
it's amazing the difference the right owner can make
the girl we adopted pokey from said all he did was hide in the corner all day
well- not in our house!

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!!!! Look at that face - I"m dying over here!!!!!!!!!!!
Even though he should be keeping my left foot warm (b/c Cosmo is on my right) I"m so happy that he has found such a wonderful home with amazing parents.
He looks so happy and that last pic of him licking his lips is priceless LOL.
