3 yrs 1 month
We converted his crib to a toddler bed at 3 years old. That was fun for a couple of weeks. We tried the toddler bed first, just to see how he would do. But he really had outgrown it, and we moved him into a twin bed a month later.
We bought the extra long guard rail from Buy Buy Baby, and it's worked well so far.

My DD is 4 and is still in her converted crib. We have a baby due in March though so she will be moving to a twin bed soon since we will need the crib for our son. She will be just under 4.5 when she makes the transition. 
ETA - She is so content in her converted bed which is why we never rushed to change her over. We figured as long as she was happy and sleeping well there was no reason to rush with the twin bed.

DD was 29 months only because we needed the crib for #2 otherwise I would not have rushed it...she was happy in her crib.

DD quit her crib at 13 months and wouldn't go in her toddler bed and has been sleeping on a full sized mattress on the floor since then. she is now 18 m

28months - crib to full size. He loves EVERY single inch of his big bed. Best decision. We were lucky with the transition.

That's young- but we are considering doing the same and putting ds2 on the buttom of a trundle bed that doesn't pop up. What did you do about your kids waking up and just walking out? I was thinking of a gate but my boys share a room and I hate to lock ds1 in there like that.

DS loved his crib. He just got potty trained at 3. So we are trying night time training and converted his crib to a full bed. He loves it.

ds is 3 1/2 and still in toddler bed(only cost $50 at walmart)... he moved into it at 2 year bday.... wasn't planning on moving him anytime soon, he still moves around at night and I don't see a twin guardrail keeping him in place.

We keep the doors closed at night so the door kept them in at first once they could open doors(which DS can do) they still stayed in bed. Never have had a problem with them not staying in their room at bedtime. DS(19 months old now) sometimes comes to me in the morning asking to nurse or telling me he is hungry. My kids always have had free roam of the house so I wasn't really worried if they come out.
