DS went in a pool for the first time around 10 weeks old.
My ped OKed sunscreen at that point, of course only a little bit, but it is better than the alternative.

Same here...Dr. actualy approved sunscreen at abou 8 wks because we were often out and about and they said the sunscreen had alot less side effects then the sun itself!

Re: what age is it okay to hold your baby in a pool?
You can use zinc based sunscreens since they sit on top of the skin. I wouldn't use lotion sine it is absorbed through their skin. Also make sur ethe water is warm. If it feels at all cold to you I wouldn't take them in. It is hard for them to regulate their body temp at fist

I took DS in the pool at 3 months. The Ped said it was okay to use baby sunscreens on him as long as it's not everyday.
