what an awesome NYPD Officer !
So last week, my hubby FOR ONCE IN HIS LIFE was taking the camera with him for the day (I talked him into it), he was going to a Yankee game, and I said how can you not ??
Well, he also had to stop at the local precinct to get paperwork (he was in a car accident 2wks ago, thank God, all ok)...
Well 2hrs after he leaves the house i get a call..
"hello this is Officer-- at the -- Precint...nothing to be alarmed about..."
she (the Officer) continues..
"Do you own a minivan, and have been to eat at Boulder Creek  ".. and a few other observations...
so now im confused.. I was thinkng could it have been forgotten in the car from the accident, but no he had it with him this morning...
well long story short. he dropped the camera either in the precinct or the parking lot..
she looked through the gazilion photos that I take  to maybe get some clues as to who it belonged to..
well there was a photo of my minivan, and she simply tracked the plates on it
I thought that was so clever, resourceful and smart !
so I asked her name, and later on, we went over. me and my boys.
I had my boys make her Thank You cards (and my 6yr old wrote the cutest things in it) "Thank you for finding our camira (I refused to help him spell it, I love kids' invented spelling) and he also wrote "thank you for protecting us" ( I always have them say that when we see NYPD or NYFD) they both drew all over their cards.
I made her a little thank you package (stationary/pen and bath and body stuff)
and I added my own note to my son's card, about how priceless the photos are, more than the camera itself....
and we went over there...
she was so appreciative and touched by just the cards alone, but I was even more appreciative and thankful for what she did...
yayyy for a wonderful Suffolk NYPD !
 
(and this happened to be a BRAND new camera, with TONSS of pics on it)
