I heard the rock star Elmo is "the" toy of the season. I also heard that the Leapfrog personal computers are the "it" toy for older kids. I'm just going on something I heard somewhere.....

The lets rock elmo seems to be everywhere.
I bought it and the kids love it. So do I 
my 10 month old was singing back at him yesterday. well, he probably considered it singing, it was more like yelling.

For the 4 and above crowd I see it being that Ipad looking electronic. I wish I knew the name. Maybe someone on here knows but its def. a hot pick in the TRU catalogue.
I also agreee about the rock star elmo. Remember when our eldest were born and elmo was in his other gear (chicken elmo, farmer elmo, tickle me elmo). Elmos got quite the life...LOL

not sure what the hot gifts are but we got him the mini Kick scooter for his birthday and it was an instant hit!!!! He loves it and he even likes his helmet  I thnk it's great. the handle bar is stationary and it's very balanced. so glad we got it for him.
I am thinking of getting him more cars and things like that. he is really interested now. someone bought him a small starter Thomas the Train set and he's liking that too. anything that rolls.
we will probably also buy him a sleigh and I think if not a kitchen, something along those lines for imaginary play.
I am going to *try* to stick with the stuff he seems interested in b/c I don't want to waste my money. even now with his limited toys, most things seem to sit.

Xia Xia hermit crabs and that Rock n Roll Mickey.
Haven't heard of anything else being hot yet.
The Leap Pad doesn't appeal to me since it's pretty pricey overall when buying the apps for what it does.
