wierdest gifts this holiday season
oh we had some good ones this year....
My poor FIL received a ped-egg for men and adjustable ankle weights (upto 10 lbs/ankle) and he's not about to begin working out... he's 70!!!  poor guy...
actually, my entire family received ped-eggs except for me... the irony in that scene is that I think I'm the only one who cares if my feet are rough  Mom and DH were fighting over who gets to give me their ped-egg
how about you? did you witness or receive anything amusing or odd?

i got a grab bag gift whose box had been opened and poorly and obviously put back together. the giver then told me that it's what she got in our family grab bag last year.

3 dinner plates with roosters on them 
My sister got them for me along with a bunch of other items - which I love.
I just kinda was torn off when I opened these...I didn't know what to say but "ohhh wow...rooster plates...thanks"

Matching Santa Claus suit aprons for DH and I. COmplete with matching potholders and dish towels. All this from my fabulous aunt.
My sister get 25 bucks from her and I get santa claus aprons. Thanks.

I got this keychain with a Pier One tag on it- inside the outer bag is a small shopping bag- I guess if I'm ever in a pinch and need an extra shopping bag.

It's like on Seinfeld - it you open it and right away say the name of the gift then you know it sucks LOL
I got a work out DVD and a weight watchers cookbook from my mom... ok, I can take a hint
She also gave me a t-shirt from the Crocs shoe co. My DH got one too!
OHHHHHHHyeah nad my bil got us all gift cards - and gift card holders. Only he didn't put the cards in the holders because he didn't know he should!! I felt so bad for him but he was utterly clueless about it!

One year DH and I got a wooden box with a tarnished clock in it the doesn't even work. We think the person looked around their basement and just picked something up and wrapped it.

A sheep on a string......Joe calls it the trojan sheep..It was from my great aunt and its so ugly, but now we laugh like mad.......Joe got a robe that is a size small short from my greta aunt also.....Joe is 300lbs a nd 6'3" he can't even get it over his shoulders

I got a rooster gravy boat that's on a stand & you put a tealight candle under it to keep the gravy warm.... it was from StepMIL's mom...so it was nice that she even got us something.

DS got a t-shirt from my mom, from Finland (she went on a cruise there this year). It has a saying on it, but she has no idea what it says because it's in Finnish (I'm guessing).
I hope it doesn't say "I hate my Grandma!".....

I got 2 odd gifts, but both were pretty cool.
From my Aunt- a small pewter elephant. It turns out though that my great aunt had a huge collection of them and she wanted us each to have one.
From DH's uncle's GF- 2 gem stones. She collects gems and gave each of the women in the family the chance to pick 2 to have jewelry made. It was a little odd, but the stones are beautiful. I chose a greenish brown quartz to make a right hand ring and a small aquamarine (DH's birthstone) for a necklace.
My mother in law got me boots- 2 sizes too small. I thought it was odd for her to get me shoes- but if she was going to she could've at least asked DH what size to get...

oh i would have loved that!
i got a gardening kit--even though we just got our landscaping done 3 months ago! it's the thought that counts but i'll be hiring the professionals to keep it up--not me with my little kit
