What are the "must have" outdoor "toys" for summer?

This year I want to transform my backyard into a kiddie heaven. What are you DC's favorite outdoor things along the lines of playhouses, slides, sand and water tables, etc?

I already have an adult pool, a kiddie sprinkler park and "pool". TIA!

ETA - DS will be 18mos-2ys during this summer, but I want stuff that will last a whileChat Icon

ohhh...I was just talking about this with my sister this morning.

I was thinking of adding a Sand Box....with different colored sand. I also was thinking of getting one of those balls that you hook up to the hose (my kids love sprinklers)

I would love to hear about any other toys that kids love

personally, i hate sand. a water table is a must plus a kiddie pool. we have a climber in the basement and one outside, our playhouse is in the playroom but DD loves it! our all terrain wagon is fabulous too. other than that, some balls and stuff. that's all i can think of. step 2 and little tykes rock!

Step 2 roller coasters! They have a little kid one and one for older kids. We have the big one, and my 3 year old loves is as does the 2 year old I watch sometimes. Its a little pricey, but talk about fun!

Sand/Water Table
Slide
Step 2 Roller Coaster
Sand Box (DS's Favorite!!)
Push Cars
Climbing Cube
Fold Away Tunnels (we put these on the grass)
Clubhouse
Little Pool with all those plastic boats and water toys from Target or TRU.
T-Ball
Any type Balls
Balloon Machine
Picnic Table
Chairs
Also this year I got one of those blow up little pools for $3.99 and I am going to fill it with those balls for the ball pits. When the plastic pools come out, I may get one of those instead because I hate blow ups. They always pop on me.

I would get this stuff early too. As it gets warmer, it will be very hard to find any of it. In my experience anyway.

If I had the right tree for it, I would love for my DC's to have a tire swing ...I have so many great memories on my backyard tire swing growing up Chat Icon

We have a climber with a slide that is either Little Tykes or Step 2 that is a big hit.

My DS's absolute favorite outside toy is his Fisher Price bubble mower. He can play with that thing for hours.

We have this sand/water table.....last year DS was 1....I only filled it with water & he LOVED it! Will likely do the same 7 avoid the sand!

We have a step 2 rollercoaster, water table and kiddie pool. I am sure as the summer goes on, I will find something else. We are definitely staying away from a sandbox this year as my DD loves to put everything in her mouth, and a sandbox is more trouble than it's worth for me. Maybe next year!
